Bernard was only told the day. If he was told "19" then he knows the birthday because there is only one "19" on the list, May 19.
Albert was only told the month, so that is of no help because each month has at least two possibilities. But if Bernard says he now knows, then Albert also can guess May 19.

I haven’t look up the answer yet, but I’m trying to solve it using probability and looking for patterns...which is just me overdoing it.
