Surveys find that men in U.S. special operations forces do not believe women can meet the physical and mental demands of their commando jobs, and they fear the Pentagon will lower standards to integrate women into their elite units, according to interviews and documents obtained by The Associated Press. Studies that surveyed personnel found "major misconceptions" within special operations about whether women should be brought into the male-only jobs. They also revealed concerns that department leaders would "capitulate to political pressure, allowing erosion of training standards," according to one document. Some of those concerns were not limited to men, researchers found, but also were found among women in special operations jobs. Dan Bland, force management director for U.S. Special Operations Command, told the AP that the survey results have "already driven us to do some different things in terms of educating the force."

I have no problem with women in the military as long as the standards are not lowered to push women in those roles. It’s the same way with a job like a firefighter. It is a job that has certain physical requirements so that the job is done properly. As long as a women can meet those standards, then sure, let her be in the special forces. If they cannot then sorry not everyone gets to be an astronaut.
touche’
Women just are not combat commandos.
I just takes too long to nag a terrorist to death. :-)
Why describe a situation that doesn't exist and never has?
If standards were not lowered for women, then nothing would have ever changed, and this reality of females as cops, firemen, military, etc, would not have taken place and would not still be taking place, and we would not be discussing it, it would have never gotten past someone's crazy idea of 45 years ago.
For the last phase of SF training.
I jumped in with 110 lbs in my pack/on me.
That was about average for our team.
We humped about 40 miles in difficult terrain in 2 days before our link-up.
Put a woman on that team - and each man load just went up 15 lbs.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
You’ve heard that old joke right?
Why do men usually die before than their wives?............because they want to. :)
They tell us that gays have to be gay, “because it’s their nature”. However, we’re supposed to ignore the obvious natural differences between men and women.
You guys and those mysterious super women that the rest of us have never seen, yet you guys always know them and work with them and bring them up in every discussion.
Why would the military that doesn’t have time for nonsense, be looking for a freak anyway?
A female that on her best day barely qualifies for a slot that many men could fill better, and endure at for many more years, and who didn’t also need an entire new support system for them, new supplies, new clothing and tailoring and equipment to fit the strange body, new doctors, new psychological forces and stresses within the unit.
Why search so hard, and sacrifice so much, and spend so much money, and throw such a giant monkey wrench into the works, to find something that doesn’t help you in anyway?
Does someone think that the exclusion of females from Special Ops is artificial, and that some day the Rangers and SEALs will just be 50/50 female and male, so all that is involved is breaking down artificial cultural barriers?
If not, then what is the purpose of expending all this effort and money and time and wasting of resources?
We will never have true equality in this country until the Democrats demand that all females between the ages of 18 and 55 be forced to sign up with the Selective Service.
“Special Operations warriors are the ultimate team players requiring a certain mindset, passion and physical capacities.”
I’ve posted on similar threads that there is indeed a place in CIA and NSA for women operators. That said, even if a woman was to meet ALL the criteria to join a team, such introduces a whole new difficulty instilled into most men from birth; that is, the need/desire to be a protector of women. Sure, team members would lay their lives down for each other, but adding a woman to that mix would throw the whole thing out of balance. It would require changing some very deep rooted aspects of human nature to succeed, if even possible.
The people pushing for adding women into the special operations community need to check their motives. To prove they are not simply doing such out of gender ‘issues’, perhaps they ought to lift any age restrictions first.
TRUE
Yep. Any woman who makes that grade would not be a “woman” She just would be a man with no balls and high levels of testosterone. Why bother? Seems like very little success for a phenomenal amount of effort.....ooops I forgot, the leftists have other axes to grind.
I have no doubts about that. But it tales a lot more work to meet specops / combat standards for women. And when you have to train a population, its better to use less effort resources and time efficiently to get the force needed.
Thats all I am saying. As to women who could kick men’s asses? I learned that lesson very early on from my Mom.
