A California judge has reduced a child rapist's mandatory 25-year sentence down to only 10 - saying anything longer would be 'cruel and unusual punishment'. Superior Court Judge M. Marc Kelly told an Orange County jury that 20-year-old Kevin Jonas Rojano-Nieto 'did not intend to harm' the three-year-old girl he raped at his family home in June. The judge said that he was sure that although Rojano-Nieto sodomized the girl and covered her mouth so she couldn't scream out, 'there was no violence or callous disregard for the victim's well-being'.

I suspect that the SOB who did this will get ‘justice’ in the pen. It won’t be ‘divine’ justice, but prison justice. The ‘skinner’, if he lives 10 years inside, will wish he had been executed. Not ‘just’ justice, but justice just the same.
I have acquaintances who worked as turnkeys in the Canadian prison system and it wasn’t unusual for them to ‘not observe anything’ when a ‘skinner’ managed to ‘fall’ on the ground multiple times during their time serving ‘at Her Majesty’s leisure’, and sustain broken teeth, cheekbones, black eyes and badly bruised ‘private parts’, all from the ‘fall’. I suspect a similar situation in the CA penal system. Unfortunately, vigilante justice, not legal justice.
This smacks of the judge’s guilty conscience to me. Could he have possibly done something similar in his past and is projecting onto this perp?
Unfortunately, that makes sense to me. Lots of pervs hiding (or not bothering to hide) in Hollyweird.

Was this sentence handed down earlier from a trial and the judge decided to reduce the sentence now or was this currently being tried and this is the sentence he handed down? The article doesn’t make it clear. Whatever, it is very sickening and disgusting. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember a DA appealing a sentence in the past. I would think public uproar would reverse this as fast as the state can act on the appeal. This judge is probably elected and no doubt will be up for reelection some day but he should be long gone from the bench before that time. Let’s see what people look like that agree with this judge on this decision.
Convicted 12/3/14 - there is uproar as there should be. This creep was appointed by Gray Davis in 2000 which tells us a lot...
