I have a dream.
I have a dream that I will wake up one day in a country where we dont have to go to court or pass a law to protect our fundamental natural rightsfrom the government.
I have a dream of a place where elected officials have so much regard for the Constitution that they memorize it like Scripture, in order to not sin against it.
I have a dream about a country where it doesnt matter if you are on the right or the left, because you have so much respect for the freedoms you were given that youd do nothing to put those liberties at risk.
If you told me that America in 2015 was such a place, Id have to say, April Fools and go back to sleep.
Unfortunately, the joke is on us.
States have been forced to pass laws in order to protect the First Amendment right of Americans to practice their faith and believe as they chooseif they happen to own a certain type of business.
The fact that new laws are necessary to uphold a fundamental right is a travesty.
And it is a sign of how far weve fallen from the Founders vision of a nation where the government kept its hands off your business, your religion and your rights.
Regardless of the politics of this embarrassing charade playing out in Indiana and other states, the stakes couldnt be higher. This battle isnt about a gay persons right to be served; this fight is about whether a gay rights activist can use the government and the courts to coerce someone into doing something that violates their faith.
That takes this out of the bedroom and puts this debate squarely into the realm of the Constitution...

That's probably the best way to handle it, really. It's honest, but it isn't specific.
Why do we have to pass a law to protect natural rights?
Because other laws have been passed that destroyed natural rights.
The Civil Rights Laws destroyed natural rights, specifically, the Freedom of Association.
Bump that.
Cruz baby! Woot!
Amen Boss.
You stay out of my church and heaven and I will stay out of your lives.
looks like a cake for tag team wrestlers. LOL
If it really came down to it, wouldn’t it be possible for everyone to be a “Sam’s Club” type of operation? You have to join. And when joining you have to accept the principle of the establishment to participate
You must bow, or be banned. That is the liberal fascist message.
LIKE!
Homosexuals are trying to embed themselves into federal civil rights laws. As of now federal law bars discrimination for categories of race, color, religion, sex and national origin, and there have been recent additions concerning conditions for age, pregnancy, disability.
But nowhere in federal law is there a category for sexual orientation.
There are executive orders and actions relevant to sexual orientation but no federal legislative law.
As I’ve posted for going on 10 years now, this battle is ultimately an attack on the Church and now we see it clearly as such.
There is a solid way to defeat the social tyranny of the courts and it does not involve any branch of the federal government.
Definitely! Less than 2% of the population should not dictate to the other 98+%.
Go, Cruz, GO!!
At this point in time, I agree wholeheartedly with these comments.
Wish we could have a poll here like we once did. My reading of the board tells me that Ted would be in the 90’s. I would like to be proven right.
An important clarification: Not "different laws for different people", but "different laws for favored groups".
I am a stickler for using the right word.
Rant
verb (used without object) 1. to speak or declaim extravagantly or violently; talk in a wild or vehement way; rave: The demagogue ranted for hours. verb (used with object) 2. to utter or declaim in a ranting manner. noun 3. ranting, extravagant, or violent declamation. 4. a ranting utterance.
"Rant" (and rave) carries a connotation of one being a bit unhinged up to insane. There is a difference between speaking passionately, clearly and precisely and ranting.
fwiw
True (if they have the proper ideology)
Go, Cruz, GO!!
Right on, right on, right on!
As will I.”
I wont adhere to this new world. I will adhere to Gods word.”
Amen! We already have a Leader who is infallible and we need to follow Him even if it means death. Material and worldly things are insignificant beside our souls. Even death would be gain for us. We can’t lose if we are faithful.
I have a dream that one day crimes against nature laws will be reinstated for predatory sodomites. For the sake of our children I pray each and every day that this dream comes true.
