Questions about the religious background of Andreas Lubitz, the Germanwings pilot who investigators said deliberately crashed a plane in the French Alps this week, killing all on board, have sparked outrage and debate about whether such information is relevant to the investigation. When a reporter asked French Prosecutor Brice Robin of Marseille, during a news conference Thursday, whether he knew Lubitz’s religion, Robin said he did not know and added, “I don’t think that’s where the answer to this lies.”
The question suggested that Lubitz’s religious background was relevant to the investigation behind the pilot’s alleged deliberate downing of Germanwings Flight 9525 on Tuesday. Robin said the crash did not show any signs of terrorism. Some were appalled by the reporter’s inquiry.
“This line of questioning makes no sense to me whatsoever,” said Elizabeth Shakman Hurd, an associate professor of political science with a courtesy appointment in religious studies at Northwestern University in Illinois. “I find it disturbing and depressing that at a time like this some people feel compelled to search desperately for explanations that presume religious causation.”

On the latest news, newscasters said that the investigators found torn up doctor's notes in the pilot's apartment that said that the pilot was not fit to fly.
If the story was true, the commentators thought that the pilot may have been severely depressed because he would have known that he could lose his job if the company found out about the doctor's notes.
Here in Canada if he was really good he’d have a CPL, instructor rating and multi/IFR. Chances of driving an Airbus at that stage of his career would be slim to none.
Exactly. I have only heard accusations, innuendo and speculation. No evidence that this guy was a Muslim. Remember people, Muslims may be nut jobs, but not all nut jobs are Muslims. There are a lot of non-Muslim wackos out there, and it certainly appears that this guy might just well be one of those.

That is sure what the MSM is selling this morning. They ought to be able to string this story out for at least two weeks before coming to the same conclusion of the crash of Malaysia Flight 370 a year ago, “we don’t have a clue”. In the mean time, they will have sucked in millions to listening to their editorials and filling the time of a 24 hour “news cycle.”

How has it been answered? I don’t think that they know anything. They are selling the crazed, jilted whacko because that is easier to sell and they can bring in more “experts”. In other words, Psychologists, or just people that don’t feel good about themselves because their girlfriends dumped them. The reality is that all the speculation of any cause is just that. The motivation of the media is obvious, they are selling their product. I wouldn’t believe a single thing that I heard until I see FACTS, not speculation...Just Sayin’

In fact they have told us some of what they found. Doctor’s notes excusing him from work- notes which Lubitz had torn up and tossed into wastebasket.
