The co-pilot of Germanwings Flight 9525 appears to have deliberately crashed the plane after he was left alone in the cockpit, according to a French prosecutor.
The captain was intentionally locked outside minutes before the A320 crashed into an alpine mountain ridge, French Prosecutor Brice Robin said Thursday. Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, a 28-year-old German national, was silent throughout the planes descent and was alive at the point of impact, according to the prosecutor.
Mr. Robins conclusions are drawn from the planes cockpit voice recorder, recovered at the crash site in the French Alps late Tuesday and analyzed by French accident investigators on Wednesday.
The recording contains screams believed to be from passengers, once they recognized the plane was crashing.
Investigators are now exploring why Flight 9525 went into its unauthorized descent from its 38,000-foot cruising altitude with one crew member absent. The descent led to the crash about 10 minutes later.
French air accident investigators said on Wednesday they extracted information from the jets cockpit voice recorder. The recording contained voices and other sounds, said Rémi Jouty, director of Frances aviation accident investigation office, which is leading the probe. He added that there was no explanation yet for why the plane went down.
Germanwings, the low-fare unit of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, hasnt disclosed the identity of the pilots....

I will bet a milkshake from Sonic that he was an unbalanced homosexual.
Transportation safety experts strongly recommend against flying with an uncertified pilot. FAA pilot certification can be the difference between a safe flight and one that ends in tragedy.
Sorry, I’m slow, and not grasping this situation...
Can somebody tell me how the actions of this co-pilot on board this airplane differs from Øbama and the USA?
The FA in the cockpit is a US proceedure, not required or used in Europe.
A lot of planes now have wifi for use while in the air. The survivors would have had texts or messages of some kind if the people had been able to use their devices. it’s just that out of 150 people, no one noticed that they were going down in time to send one of those short messages.
i do find it really odd.
My husband had a large stroke, and he breathed normally for the first few hours. He was panic stricken, but you couldn’t tell from his breathing.

See "Aviation Business Gazette" vanity articles? What is this?
Just talked to a person who has a German exchange student. He says that the home town of his parents needed laborers after WWII and brought people in from Turkey. They have now taken over. Many were of a faith we have been asking about. So who were his ancestors?
Not all planes have wifi. Either this flight didn’t have it or they have quieted all passengers’ relatives with something that would keep them quiet. I don’t know who is ultimately in charge of this investigation but maybe even just telling the relatives that their silence could save other lives. During this short time of silence they may be able to do some kind of traces and shut down anything if this was not a lone wolf.
We don’t even know if this was perhaps a many member ATTACK including this pilot. That maybe he stacked the passengers with fellows to keep the innocent passengers from doing any kind of Let’s Roll.
A 28 year old? Secondly, even if the guy was passed out, the plane was on auto-pilot.
This line belonged to Lufthansa, but it was a budget airline and probably did not have wifi. However, even if it did, the person in the cockpit can shut down all systems in the cabin, and it sounds (judging by the lack of ground contact) as if the co-pilot may have done just that.
They were too far away from cell towers for a normal phone call to be picked up and transmitted, but I wonder if there might be some outgoing texts or photos stored on passenger phones...if any phones can be found.

That's true.
To me, the copilot looks as if he is at least part Turkish or ME of some sort, possibly Algerian (esp. if his family lived in Marseilles).
No it’s not far fetched. His FB shows the San Francisco bridge, some pretty gay looking gays etc.
Right now it’s the ONLY thing in his closet...and I agree it’s a stretch.
I know this sounds really bad for me to say this, as these people died, but they would all be martyrs if it turns out that this co-pilot was Muslim.
Apparently the copilot wasn’t just breathing, but was handling the switches, etc. For example, even if the door is locked from the inside, it opens automatically after 5 minutes (precisely to prevent an incapacitated pilot at the controls). So he had to manually override it every time it got to that point.
Exactly. Good one..
Not following you.
Was reported that on the in bound the pilot did NOT leave the cockpit once.
