U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is the first official major candidate for president. He won't win the GOP nomination, but winning in 2016 is likely not his game plan. He is playing the long game and will win through 2016 martyrdom...
[U]ltimately, Cruz may be hoping to galvanize support for his staunch brand of conservatism. He could be hoping that a mainstream Republican wins in 2016, dissatisfies conservatives with a milquetoast term that changes few or no Obama policies, and leaves the electorate hankering for a "true conservative" in 2020 or 2024. Or, perhaps more slyly, he could hope to split the Republicans in 2016 and cause a Democrat to win the White House, giving Republicans four more years of Obama-esque policies. By then, thoroughly sick of liberalism, all non-Democrats will be eager to vote for a libertarian like Cruz...

What is this, the 10th such 'article' today?
Mm kay. Whatever.
Another member of the Cruz derangement syndrome society
What or who the F is Digital Journal and why should I care about what this guy’s opinion is?
If he really didn’t have a snow balls chance in hell, all of the newspapers would be telling us how awesome he is right now
Disagree. Being honest is what he claims as his major asset. Therefore, he’s in it to win it. This is not strategized for some future run at the white house. He’s serious.
Why does the media overanalyze everything? Ted Cruz is in the race to win period. The author didn’t need to waste time with useless analysis disguised as a news story.
I haven’t seen so much screaming and caterwauling since Sarah Palin was the VP candidate.
How soon before the I hate Cruz campaigns just ‘because’, become the daily news feed?
Oh wait... that’s already happened.
Well, Reagan was briefly a candidate in 1968. Then his strong challenge to President Ford in the 1976 primaries set the stage for victory in 1980. Cruz is only 44. If he doesn’t win the nomination or election this time around, he could well be a factor in presidential politics for many election cycles in the future.
No bias in this article.
“his political views, which he appears to cherish”
“a nod to be Jeb Bush’s veep”
As an op-ed piece.
The enemedia has its orders. Virtue, decency, Truth, Justice and the American way are now verboten for them.
And I hate the enemedia for this completely.
Or, perhaps he is the smartest candidate out there and the only one who has a plan to save this country from 27 years of liberalism which has destroyed this country.
Nahhhh.... That can’t be it.

Cruz is catching a lot of flack from the MSM, this time in the context of “He Can’t Win” (apparently today’s MSM talking point).
Hmmm. Catching flack = over the target.
They’re SCARED.
Dewey beats Truman.
Sarah got it from a whole bunch here in 2012 and she didn't even have to run.
“Oh, if only we were worthy enough Sarah would have run and American would have been saved. We let her down. This is just like the Old Testament stories when the Jewish people were punished......”
LOL
