Israel’s ambassador to the US, Ron Dermer received Saturday the full backing of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, amid chatter in Washington that replacing Dermer may be necessary to restore the working relationship with the Obama administration.

In a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu reiterated what he had said at the AIPAC conference earlier this month that he “couldn’t be prouder to have Ron Dermer representing Israel in Washington.”

“That is as true today as it was then,” the statement read. “The prime minister has full confidence in Ambassador Dermer, whose service to the people and State of Israel continue to reflect his extraordinary dedication, professionalism, and passion.”

The statement came after White House press secretary Josh Earnest hinted that replacing Dermer could be a gesture towards repairing the relationship. “Obviously, Prime Minister Netanyahu will decide who is the person who is best positioned to represent his country in the United States,” Earnest said during a daily briefing.

Dermer is expected to be on NBC’s Meet the Press program Sunday morning to respond to President Obama recent comments that the U.S. will “reassess” its relationship with the Jewish State.

I don’t think she gave Saddam any green light... he wasn’t asking for one. In any case the culprit is most likely her underling, who met with Saddam after she had left the region.

A fellow named Joe Wilson, the last US diplomat to meet with Saddam before Saddam invaded Kuwait. That last meeting was also attended by Saddam’s Paris-based “principal arms dealer.”

Joe would later become ambassador to the backwater, Gabon. One of his wives was a French official connected to Omar Bongo; another was Valerie Plame, the so-called super doper deep cover spy “exposed” by Novak.

His business partner was Alamoudi, a very wealthy Saudi of Ethiopian lineage, IIRC, I think the guy who was hired by Qadaffi to assassinate the Saudi King with some Syrian involvement.

No wonder Obummer does not like this guy!!!

The Case for Democracy is a foreign policy manifesto written by one-time Soviet political prisoner and former Israeli Member of the Knesset, Natan Sharansky. Sharansky’s friend Ron Dermer is the book’s co-author.

The book achieved the bestsellers list of the New York Times, Washington Post and Foreign Affairs.

In the book, Sharansky and Dermer argue that the primary goal of American foreign policy, as well as that of the free world, should be the expansion of democracy.

The book advocates a moral foreign policy based on belief in the universality of freedom and human rights. Sharansky and Dermer argue that nations that respect their citizens will also respect their neighbors.

The book is sub-titled, The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror. The authors express passionate and controversial arguments against any compromise on the road to freedom.

Basically the middle finger salute that Barry is so fond of himself. :-)

When the political winds shift in an ugly direction, Barry knows which finger to raise.

Reminds me of Bush I insulting Iraq by appointing April Glaspie Ambassador. Then she proceeded to mistakenly give Saddam an OK to invade Kuwait.

In retrospect, it might have been a better idea to have had April give Saddam to understand that he could have Kuwait as long as he promised to clean out Saudi Arabia and feed all the Wahabbis thru his wood chipper, provided of course that gas remain below $2/gallon.

Bibi wins a blowout election and Captain Midnight wants him to start making concessions. Yeah, right. Only the GOP does things like that.

If Obama really wants Ambassador Dermer gone, all he has to do is instruct the State Department to declare Dermer `persona non grata’ & the Israeli must leave the country within 24 hours.

Make it happen, Bammie!

If we replace all the Democrats in Washington, THAT would be a great step toward supporting Israel.
