A lot of the current problems related to these kinds of "marriages" and "families" is the denial of human nature by the leftists. Many leftists still believe in the blank-slate theory i.e. you are what society makes you.

If there are no hard-wired feelings, then people are just malleable puppets who can be made like/love anything. Tradition and common sense are tossed out the window.
