The committee investigating Benghazi formally requested Friday that Hillary Rodham Clinton turn her email server over to an independent third party so it can be scrutinized to determine whether she and the Obama administration complied with open-records laws.
Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy sent a letter to the former secretary of states personal lawyer making the request, which he said only comes after exhaustive efforts to get a look at her communications during the time of the 2012 terrorist attack on the diplomatic post in Libyas second-largest city.

I can’t decide between rich or sweet.
Your thoughts on this?
without question....
from article, “Turns out that Hillary’s private email address that she used for State Department business was missing a key ingredient that you probably have on your home computer - basic internet security....
“This really ought to be getting MUCH more press and the media really ought to be hammering Hillary over this”

not just the email server... what about her cell phone?:
Elaborating, Bolton said: We know that many hostile intelligence services have the capability to turn cell phones even if they are turned off into microphones that can be used to eavesdrop on conversations and meetings.
Big problem, yeah, but why the two-year wait? Seems to cause HRC the most political damage, and yet take the focus off the truth behind Benghazi, (again).
Squirrel!
Just a thought :
IF. (Big if) the server still doesn’t have this secure feature on it, it would still be susceptible to hacking. Maybe they want to keep it quiet until it’s in secure hands.
It may be a distraction while investigation is targeting a different facet or simply a carrot to see if certain people will follow it. One thing for sure neither Hill/Billy have the computer expertise to do much with their equipment. They must hire it done which leaves them open to others testifying -— Not a good thing for them!
Was hunting for the article could find it. From memory:
She was offered/given a secure blackberry the government uses. Instead she insisted on using an I Phone which could not be secured
Being offered a secure phone is prob standard fare-—esp for cabinet official. Assuming Hillary turned it down (or didn’t use it) for the same reason: She wanted to be off the govt “grid.”
At this point, hackers have hacked the hacks, IMHO. And, reportedly, Mills and company have had two years to scrub the server.

Hacker Begins Distributing Confidential Memos Sent To Hillary Clinton On Libya, Benghazi Attack
Armed with confidential memos to Hillary Clinton that were stolen from the e-mail account of a former White House aide, a hacker has distributed some of the documents to a wide array of congressional aides, political figures, and journalists worldwide.
(snip)
Most of the e-mail recipients were sent four separate memos that were e-mailed to Clinton by Blumenthal during the past five months. Each memo dealt with assorted developments in Libya, including the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi. One memo marked Confidential was sent to Clinton on September 12.
Blumenthals memos and e-mails to Clinton were sent to her at a non-governmental e-mail address through the web domain clintonemail.com.

Sharyl Attkisson investigates Hillary Clintons document sifter, Cheryl Mills
Posted at 6:15 pm on October 18, 2014
As Twitchy reported this week, investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson has published a fascinating piece in this weeks Daily Signal on Hillary Clinton aide Cheryl Mills and her long career of document sifting for her boss. Attkisson speaks extensively on camera to whistleblower Sonya Gilliam, who was responsible for Commerce Department responses to Freedom of Information Act requests during the Clinton administration.
Attkisson writes:
To Sonya Gilliam, a recent account of improper sorting of Benghazi-related documents at the State Department brought back vivid memories of her own encounters with high-level government officials who withheld, deleted or destroyed public records.
And one name stood out for its familiarity: Cheryl Mills.
A former deputy assistant secretary of state had told The Daily Signal that Mills was present during an after-hours document operation in a basement room of the State Department in October 2012. Mills was chief of staff to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
One article said to hide it from the Republicans. In my mind I thought NO —to hide it from BO and to hide it from legal authority. A political party can’t send you to jail. BO can throw her under the bus and regardless of what she thinks she can be arrested and do time
Do you think that Gowdy and Co have copies of some of the emails, And are just waiting to spring them on her when she testifies?
All articles we read presume Hillary just found out she needed to explain her homebrew server and turn over emails in the last year or so.
IMO, Hillary and her scrubbing crew have been working on her server for YEARS.
It will NOT be turned over voluntarily. Who {and under what conditions) has the power to compel seizure?
....Endless time for additional tweaking.
and at least additional weeks for Hillary & the Obama adm to get on the same page or part company -— or it could even be a combo agreement.
Repubs always a day late and a dollar short....They will have to work with the info they presently hold.
Hearings will be held...lol
I read earlier today that the Justice Dept was blocking all further requests for Hillary’s email.
Stop with these nonsense requests and go with DEMANDS, using the full force of law. Back in the day, I could have obtained a signed search warrant with far fewer facts.
I like Trey Gowdy and I don’t envy his workload, but damn, I am starting to wonder about him.
Gowdy is blowing smoke for GOP-e (*cough* McCain), and taking HRC down a peg or two.
JMO
This is gonna be like pulling teeth.
Prediction: the server was gone over with a fine tooth comb weeks ago and all incriminating evidence was deleted. The impartial third party is gonna find a server clean as the driven snow, assuming it gets turned over.
The wheels of justice....
IMO Gowdy is dragging it out. Timing the explosion(s) to be later thereby giving the D party less time to reorganize and get the name recognition, finances and organization in place to win the presidency in 16.
Hillary is going down at the latest time possible
On his committee is Susan Brooks R IN. Her reputation as a prosecutor is extremely strong. She will take on Hillary, tear her up and spit her out without taking off her lace gloves and derby hat. She is Extremely organized, brilliant and articulate
Those who know her reputation and/or have seen her work in court are rubbing their hands and licking their lips (including my rep who has practiced against her)
How can they do that unless they are planning on using it as evidence in an open investigation?
And the backups. ALL OF THEM.
Do we know that he or another investigator has not secured a search warrant quietly and in fact have the materials waiting for a grand jury?
If she is charged and convicted too soon 0 will just pardon them all. Pardons are for sale-—just as Rich
I’m more concerned what the statute of limitation is!
