If Fiona M. Jardine had a husband, the expensive fertility treatments she's now undergoing would be covered by her health plan. But Jardine, 29, is married to a woman, so she and her wife have to pay out of pocket.
A bill that would grant married lesbian couples the same fertility treatment benefits as husbands and wives is advancing in the Maryland General Assembly.

Maryland has required state-regulated health insurance plans that offer pregnancy-related benefits to cover the costs of in vitro fertilization since 2000. It is one of a dozen states that require coverage of the procedure, which involves fertilizing the egg outside the woman's body and implanting the embryo in the uterus.
That law includes a requirement that only the husband's sperm can be used in any covered in vitro procedure a provision that excludes lesbians using donated sperm.

Not it!
Shouldn't it only cost 2.50 at the dollar store and a free ad on craig's list?
Where did you find that? AMV Hell?
I could post something but it would be in bad Baste....
The World Turned Upside Down...
Lesbian infertility is self-inflicted. Why should I have to pay for that?
Once again
treating children as rights
and NOT
as people.
Get a puppy.
Something my oldest found years ago, during her AMV phase. . .
Most lesbians don’t want chillun, so why is this necessary.
Same for homo’s. They don’t want kids either.
Wait a minute. I’m good lookin, 51 and I don’t want children...Ooops...
LOL
wouldn’t it be cheaper just to do a one night stand with some guy ???
Maybe the other woman’s brother ???
I can’t take it anymore. Really, I just can’t take this crap anymore.
Soon, you’ll in blue states will pay for SRS and male pregnancy costs. Yes, I will say it will happen in 5 years for adult SRS... and maybe 10 years for minor’s SRS...
“But Jardine, 29, is married to a woman, so she and her wife”-
There is free speech in this country, so she/they can call that relationship whatever they want-but that does not make it real-they are not “married” and she does not have a “wife”...
I don’t care how many times they scissor, they ain’t gonna conceive.
How did such a thing slip by the obamacare writers? This will be one of the many items they got wrong that will get fixed...you can betcha’....
Moreover, even if they were infertile, IVF does nothing to treat or cure infertility. The World Health Organization defines infertility as the inability of a sexually active, non-contracepting couple to achieve pregnancy via intercourse in one year.
IVF does nothing to help a couple achieve pregnancy via intercourse. It does not address the underlying problem.
I’m seeing South Park in your comment. Haha!
To those of you who think I'm promoting the rights male homosexuals, I'm not. I'm just trying to show how stupid, not to mention expensive, this could be.
But if Maryland is stupid enough to go forward with this, let them.
