Maybe it is her short, spiky hair, or the cigarettes, which she gives to the men repairing the wiring in her Brooklyn apartment. Maybe it is because she swears. For whatever reason, the Rev. Ann Kansfield does not fit the stereotype of a minister.
Not that she is worried about meeting anyone’s expectations for what a clergywoman should say or do.
“We shouldn’t have to hide ourselves or worry about being judged,” Ms. Kansfield, who ministers at the Greenpoint Reformed Church, said.
In her newest ministry, that self-assuredness is likely to serve her well. Ms. Kansfield, 39, is to be sworn in on Tuesday as a chaplain of the New York Fire Department, the first female chaplain and the first openly gay chaplain in a department that for decades resisted efforts to diversify its ranks.

This is a typical appointment for political correctness. Today we don’t deal with problems, we pander to them instead.
If a “lesbian” is simply a woman who loves a woman, then why do so many go out of their way to have a mannish appearance? Including this fire chaplain???
If she was a black, musllim, illegal alien they would have almost all the bases covered.

She might be a very wonderful person in many ways --- I'm going to assume she is --- but sexually she is, for some reason, seriously disoriented. That means ---- I think--- she should be lovingly welcomed as a counselee, not a counselor.

In this, the land of freedom of religion, pretty much ANYONE can put on a priests collar and label themselves a priest (or a minister, etc) and its completely legal.
Wow, talk about not understanding (or, more likely, WANTING to understand) Christianity...that phrase really hits the mark.
This is the left’s wellworn tactic of destroying from the inside, those things they could not destroy in a frontal assault. They couldn’t destroy Christianity, so they infiltrate like termites to destroy from within, leaving nothing but a husk that a strong breeze will blow down. At the same time, they become more and more militant and intolerant of true Biblical Christianity, because it can’t be infiltrated. So they’re attacking Christianity from within and from without. Making a sepulchre full of bones of apostate “Christianity”, marginalising and driving to the fringes of society Biblical Christianity.
I suppose they could be said to be the unwitting agents who divide the wheat from the chaff, in regards to Christianity.
