ESSE JACKSON, CHICAGO BLACK MINISTERS DUMP RAHM EMANUEL, SUPPORT CHUY GARCIA FOR MAYOR

Rahm Emanuel’s path to re-election as Chicago’s mayor just got a little murkier. On Monday a large group of African American ministers led by Operation Push activist Jesse Jackson endorsed Rahm’s opponent, Jesus “Chuy” Garcia.

Emanuel has been having a lot of trouble with three entrenched constituencies in the Windy City: The black community, the Hispanic community and the teachers union. Still, in the recent election he did better with black voters than he might have. But today, after losing Jesse Jackson and the city’s black ministers, Emanuel might have received a fatal blow to his shaky base of African American voters.

Been out of the scene since 2000 but am telling those I know if they want a disaster like Blasio they got em with Cluy. The way they’re going to make up that population loss (Look at the 11th ward remap) will be to use Chicago as an illegals dumping ground. As if Morgan street aint bad enough. It is the fate of democracies that value multiculturalism and diversity rather than assimilation. Non-Hispanic whites made themselves into the minority. We bring in 1.1 million legal permanent immigrants a year, 87% of whom are minorities as classified by the USG. Moreover, we reinforce their minority identity by providing special rights and privileges like affirmative action and minority business set asides. Why should some immigrant from Mexico, Haiti, or China be given preferences over a white from Appalachia?

This country is finished. Obama's two executive amnesties just hastened the process.

I left BP in 1964. My grandparents settled in BP in 1896. Morgan St was the location of my high school..now it's home to Mexican gangs, especially in the area of South Carpenter St. Halsted St. is a ghost town after 6PM because of the thugs. The Blacks now come into the neighborhood and bank robberies and store/citizen hold-ups are not uncommon..in short, it's not a safe neighborhood to live in. Halsted St, once a thriving business district, is now a street of boarded up buildings, tattoo parlors and some businesses. Of course, there are plenty of illegal aliens living in the neighborhood. One good thing is that there are a good number of Chinese who moved in from Chinatown and have started up businesses. $400,000 and up homes are being built and they are selling. Hipsters have moved in from the North Side. Mexicans make up a large number of residents and the Caucasians that have remained complain about a lack of food stores and other types of businesses that BP was once known for. There's also a “community service center” called the Unity Center that is home to socialists/maxists/communists who come to rally one another and attract other new recruits from the neighborhood to embrace life as a Leftie. This Unity Center also provides illegal aliens with whatever they need to set up housekeeping in the neighborhood. BP was home to my family for over 100 years, and I do miss all the memories of living in a wonderful, safe neighborhood back in the 40s’50s, composed of married parents and a Mom who who did not work outside of the home, a church on every corner, a thriving business district. I will never return to BP, but by joining the Bridgeport Chicago Facebook page, I can reminisce with the old timers like myself about what it was like living in the BP of our youth.
