Its safe to say that no president in modern times has had his legitimacy questioned by the opposition party as much as Barack Obama. But as his term in office enters its final phase, Republicans are embarking on an entirely new enterprise: They have decided that as long as he holds the office of the presidency, its no longer necessary to respect the office itself.
Is that a bit hyperbolic? Maybe. But this news is nothing short of stunning:
A group of 47 Republican senators has written an open letter to Irans leaders warning them that any nuclear deal they sign with President Barack Obamas administration wont last after Obama leaves office.
Organized by freshman Senator Tom Cotton and signed by the chambers entire party leadership as well as potential 2016 presidential contenders Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, the letter is meant not just to discourage the Iranian regime from signing a deal but also to pressure the White House into giving Congress some authority over the process.
It has come to our attention while observing your nuclear negotiations with our government that you may not fully understand our constitutional system
Anything not approved by Congress is a mere executive agreement,(continued)

Obama says, “if Congress won’t act, I will!”
OK, so now Congress is acting.
When you conduct foreign policy as if it were a personal hobby instead of seeking consensus, you open yourself up to being treated as a hobbyist.
Funny, because it seems that the President thinks he can rewrite the laws at will. The MSM doesn’t seem too upset about that.
Legitimacy? Obama?? Hoo hoo hee hee! Those two words go together like oil and water.
He’s our Caliph.
So have most of our former allies.
Republicans are beginning to act as though Barack Obama isnt even the president
Personally, I think this is a great political strategy.
It puts 0bama on the defensive as some Republicans are taking an offensive tact in addressing real issues. It will make 0bama look petty and childish to be constantly complaining.
I believe it was Jeffrey Toobin who said ‘Obama is the President that Nixon wanted to be’.
No use respecting the office any more than the guy who’s sitting in it.
He’s America’s Golfer-In-Chief ....
That doesn't matter anymore. Even here on FR it's overlooked if it's "our guy."
Don’t we all wish.......
Who told him he was?
You know, even through Kennedy, that idiot LBJ, the bumbling Cottah, that disingenuous lecher, Billy Jeff Clintoon, I always said, that no matter how bad, they were the President of the United States of America.
I hated it, but I accepted it.
But with this piece of crap, I will never, never accept him as my POTUSA.
I hate the fool and I count the days until he is out of office.
I think history will eventually show that he never was, but even if that turns out not to be the case, a Windup toy monkey could have done a better job than that idiot.
W never had legitimacy questioned after 2000?
Right.
I think at this point, we need that war between America and the media ... they're the ones that are killing us
You are a man after my own heart. Yes, the primary enemy of this nation are those left wing Liberal Democrat propaganda agents who filter everything the public sees and hears. Until we start talking about ways to wipe them out financially, we aren't serious about solving any problems.
They need to be castrated one way or another.
Yeah, I know.
I admit, since it isn’t an issue after Precedent Obama, I’ve been pushing for Ted Cruz. He may be the one to save the Republic.
I've always said our party should disrespect him often, and in any manner possible. After he has his predictable childish meltdown, the rest of the population might be able to see him for what he really is; An incompetent man-child who would never have gotten anywhere but for the lying and deceitful people who run the media and entertainment industries.
