DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Sen. Ted Cruz says the Justice Department should investigate Hillary Rodham Clinton's use of a private email account to conduct official business while she was secretary of state.
The Texas Republican and possible 2016 presidential contender said Saturday that the department "absolutely" should launch an investigation to determine whether Clinton violated any laws, adding that it has an "obligation to do so."

I know Ted Cruz is smarter than this. Perhaps he is goading the Justice department - trying to get them to show at least a modicum of gumption against the entrenched liberals in DC.
That would of been like asking the Chicago police department to investigate Al Capone.
So what did he have to say six months ago when Congress knew officially?
Congressional staffers have been buzzing about this since Guccifier hacked Blumenthal two years ago. Where was he then?
While needed from a candidate perspective, there really isn’t a need to ‘investigate’.
The mere fact she set up her own email server inside her home and conducted official State Department communication over it while NEVER having an official State Department email account is alone justification for charging her with a felony immediately.....there isn’t a need to ‘investigate’ this. Indict her!

I like Ted, but the naivete of this statement is beyond comprehension.
Thank goodness Cruz has spoken out. Freepers freaking against Trey Gowdy has been fever pitch in select threads.
Gowdy already knows this Hillary investigation will not come to resolution under this current administration and its Justice Department, unless Obama signals for it to be resolved.
Only the Justice Department can do the door kicking and enforcement, not Trey Gowdy.
Trey is charged only with nailing Hillary on the record, for the record, with the facts, on the narrow scope of Libya and Benghazi.
Gowdy is not in place to muscle a server out of the house.
The Clinton’s habitual, family destruction of self-incriminating documents is no secret. Another reason Hillary might have wanted a private email account was to communicate with her disciples about Bill Clinton’s involvement with pedofile billionaire, Jeffrey Epstein. Perchance, her aides were sending her photographs and video as proof of Bill’s sordid participation in underage sex orgies on Epstein’s plane and privately owned island. Get your hand on these kind of emails, and you could topple Bill’s legacy, and Hillary’s.
