Colin Powell Still Sees 'Dark Vein' of Intolerance in GOP
Speaking on the day following the 50-year anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" in Selma, Alabama, the first African-American Secretary of State Colin Powell said he still sees a "dark vein" of intolerance in the Republican Party, echoing comments that he made in 2013.
"I still see it. I still see it in the Republican Party and I still see it in other parts of our country. You don't have to be a Republican to be touched by this dark vein," Powell told ABC's George Stephanopoulos Sunday on "This Week."

Well, Ditch and Boner are certainly prejudiced against Constitutionalists. I see that as a dark brown vein.
It’s time to get used to the human race, dimwit.
They never even really bring it up. We’re supposed to give them all kinds of accolades but they are one of the biggest problems in our society.
I’ve been trying to find areas where Conlin Bowell has something in common with Republicans. So far it’s the following:
1) School Choice
2) Lower Taxes (nothing specific, just the thought that money is better spent privately).
Here’s where he lines up with the Democrats:
1) Supports abortion
2) Gut military spending
3) Calls the country racist
4) Against jailing criminals
5) Against school prayer
6) Thinks that wind can solve energy problems
7) Keep nearly all of ANWR closed
8) Believes in global warming
9) Against “family values”
10) Against Cuba sanctions
11) Will not step up to China threat
12) STRONGLY Against Voter ID
13) Supports expanded gun control
14) Against tracking potential terrorists in US
15) Wants to close Gitmo
16) Supports open borders
17) Voted for JFK and LBJ
19) Supports affirmative action & wants it forever
20) Supports Amnesty
21) Supports US answering to UN
22) Cut Strategic Oil Reserve
what...but Selma was a Democrat operation...the GOP didn’t have as its majority leader a grand klegal of the KKK and the GOP didn’t put a klansman on the Supreme Court...Collin Powell is Al Sharpton’s brother from another mother
We don’t tolerate racists like Obozo.
What a pile of crap. Intolerance of liberal bee ess, maybe.
Republicans made him that he is a highly decorated Multimillionaire
Probably hears voices in his head too.
I used to admire Powell, until I realized when he let Libby fall on his own sword that he is nothing but another liberal weasel.
Sometimes people see what they want to see.
...and that “dark vein” is him.
Colin Bowel is a mulatto desperately trying appear BLACK...
Mulatto’s mostly all try to be non white.. fishing for the minority handle
Obama is forcing many to despise Blacks, mulattos, and much of anything coming from the Black experience..
Because the black experience is nasty, and loaded with maleficence from every angle....
"More Americans View Blacks As Racist Than Whites, Hispanics"
"Among black Americans, 31% think most blacks are racist, while 24% consider most whites racist and 15% view most Hispanics that way."
The 'dark vein' of intolerance appears to be darkest among those with the darkest veins.
Where exactly does he see dark veins of Democratic Governor George Wallace unleashing state troopers on horseback to subdue peaceful protestors? I require specificity.
...I sat around all day and thought of ways to oppress Americans of African descent. Then, I realized the Democrat Party is already doing that, so I listened to some Louis Armstrong instead...
WOW! I Did The Same Thing!
GMTA!!
It's Simply Amazing! Such A Coincidence!
