I watched a bit of Chris Wallace and the gang this morning. I think that the talking points the Democrats have decided to use to defend Hillary is that, although Hillary may have merely “broken some rules” (Juan Williams terminology), the fact that the Republicans have noticed it, or acknowledged it, or want to investigate it, is so much more evil than any wrong that Hillary might have done, that the Republicans are the worst offenders, and should be judged severely.
Much theater. No results.
Delays that look good, but delays none the less.
Speeches to agree with, but no results, “full of sound and fury. Signifying nothing.”
Today’s Republican party.
The ones we are to vote for because look how bad it would be if we didn’t.
This means Miss Lindsay and her BF John were up to their eyebrows in the spooky bed with jihadists.
It means the GOP APPROVED of all this and they have to have Gowdy orchestrate the histrionics of it.
They have gotten to Trey, I think.
Many of us have figured that out in recent months. He is grand theater and that's about it. He does seem able to speak well when his face is not in the speakers a$$ but that's about it.

Despite what the whiners here at FR think, Gowdy has been about as effective as anyone in his position can be. After all, he’s fighting the entire democrat party and a good many powerful republicans who have their own secrets to keep.
Just the way congressional hearings are conducted has never inspired a great deal of optimism in me. Ive always felt that we need a way of taking congressional hearings and investigations out of the hands of congress but don’t see anyone making a push for something like that to happen.
Yes, the way to build up Conservative action is to come to Free Republic and downgrade any politician who acts in a Conservative manner. That’s the ticket.
