Despite what the whiners here at FR think, Gowdy has been about as effective as anyone in his position can be. After all, he’s fighting the entire democrat party and a good many powerful republicans who have their own secrets to keep.
Just the way congressional hearings are conducted has never inspired a great deal of optimism in me. Ive always felt that we need a way of taking congressional hearings and investigations out of the hands of congress but don’t see anyone making a push for something like that to happen.
I hope you are right but have my doubts.
How about a federal "grand jury" and "Office of the Federal Prosecutor" both staffed and elected by the states? They could work in conjunction with a reconfigured FBI.
A Convention of States could probably get this done.
Very well said... and I completely agree.
Despite the enablers of Gowdy here, there are much more Gowdy could
have and should have done, as part of his investigation.
He knew about these e-mails for 6 months and only when this scandal broke
did he grandstand and issue a supeona for the emails.
In addition, to this day he has not issued a supeona for the “physical server” itself.
Anything Trey Gowdy says or does is first put through the media’s garbolator. They can then successfully make the truth and reality into something totally different. Gowdy isn’t Just fighting progressives and GOPe but the media beast as well.
