An event held last Friday at the National Press Club and broadcast live on C-SPAN 3 focusing on the U.S.-Israel relationship featured a number of virulently anti-Israel speakers who made conspiratorial claims about Zionism, the influence of the Israel Lobby and much more.jeff-blankfort-summit-dc-cspan
The event, dubbed as a National Summit to Reassess the U.S.-Israel Special Relationship, was sponsored by anti-Israel groups If Americans Knew, the Council for the National Interest (CNI), the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy (IRmep) as well as the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs.
Sessions at the summit included, How does the Israel lobby influence Congress? and Does Israel and its lobby exercise too much influence on U.S. decisions to wage war in the Middle East? Subtopics for those sessions included, In the Israel lobbys cross-hairs, and Are threats to Israels security inflated to justify occupation and U.S. support?
While almost all of the speakers called on the U.S. to end its aid to Israel, the following is a sampling of some of the most inflammatory statements.
Paul Findley, a former U.S. Representative from Illinois and a founder of CNI, said: The influence of Israel, as of today, is so great on Capitol Hill that they [Representatives] see dangers of not surviving the next election if they challenge what Israel is doing.Cynthia McKinney, a former U.S. Representative from Georgia, who spoke via Webcast, told the audience that the pro-Israel lobby usually has a whole lot of money and those of us who act of conscious generally dont they [the pro-Israel lobby] can buy and intimidate people.
Philip Giraldi, Executive Director of CNI, talked about an Israeli conspiracy surrounding the 9/11 attacks. The existence of a large scale Israeli spying effort at the time of 9/11 has been widely reported incorporating Israeli companies Five Israelis from one of the companies were observed celebrating against the backdrop of the Twin Towers going down.
Jeffrey Blankfort, a radio host based in San Francisco, referred to Washington, D.C. as Israeli-occupied territory and spoke of AIPACs occupation of Congress. He also alleged that PNAC [Project for New American Century] initiated and made up of predominantly Jewish neocons began promoting regime change in Iraq.
Grant F. Smith, the Director of IRmep, said that there has been Israeli espionage in the U.S. since the 1940s. My conclusion, he said, is there is no U.S. law that if it stands in the way of Israel that cannot be thwarted [by Israel].
Allan C. Brownfeld, a nationally syndicated columnist, said: What has happened to American Judaism has completely corrupted its religious nature. What we are witnessing today synagogues flying Israeli flags, programs urging American Jews to emigrate to Israel their real homeland, is a form of idolatry making the sovereign state of Israel the object of worship rather than God. He added, It is also my view that Zionism is a subversive enterprise.
During a Q&A sessions at the summit, one of the audience members stated that the Holocaust narrative is still the third rail and that teaching it in schools is a violation of constitutional rights. Its a state enforcement of a religious dogma.
Jeffrey Blankfort responded to that comment by stating that, When it comes to the Holocaust, theres no range of opinions. You teach a certain line; you do not teach about the Zionist-Nazi collaboration
Justin Raimondo, the editorial director of Antiwar.com, interjected and asked Blankfort, What range of opinions could you possibly have about the Holocaust?! Philip Weiss, a co-founder of the anti-Israel Mondoweiss blog, also responded to Blankforts comments and called them repulsive but added that, the West incurred a debt towards the Jews from the Holocaust and the Palestinians paid for that.
During another Q&A session, an audience member asked, why is it such a stretch for us as a body to not publicly say, Israel had a hand in 9/11?
Stephen Snagoski, a columnist for the anti-Semitic and conspiratorial Veterans News Now, responded in part: It seems reasonable that they [Israel] may have known a lot about it and didnt tell that to people who would act to prevent it in the United States It looks like all the evidence has disappeared. Snagoski stated that these alleged developments were reported on, even Fox, which he referred to as, one of their channels.
Several other speakers participated in the Summit, including Stephen Walt, Alison Weir, Raymond McGovern and Paul Pillar.
Older Freepers will recognize some of the names. Recall Ray McGovern of VIPS and Paul Pillar from the Wilson/Plame Niger Yellowcake CIA affair.
Satan’s Legions are everywhere these days...
these Nazis need to be DEFEATED, and soon...
or they will destroy America (and the Church)
The Palestinian lobby appears to be fond of him
Ping.
It’s part of the moral equivalency crowd when it comes to proliferation... the founder’s wrote some books which has enabled him to get facetime in the MSM.
There are some youtube vids of him trying to sound authoritative.
Never addresses that the US doesn’t have to fear Israeli nukes but we do have reason to fear Iranian ones.
Looks like he put out a new book in November around the time the Obama admin was gearing up to push the Iran deal.
Seems.... he’s upset about the group
UANI ...United Against Nuclear Iran
Members in good standing of the Netanyahu Derangement Syndrome Association
Loooks like in October 2014 IRmep filed a lawsuit [ http://jewishbusinessnews.com/2014/10/29/irmep-files-federal-suit-against-israeli-charities-for-supporting-nuclear-weapons/]... the gist of it being that the US should treat Israel like it does Iran in regards to proliferation ...
[because goodness know those Israelis have shouted “Death to America” while parading around units of Hezbollah , weapons systems and assorted missiles so often... that one has to wonder how we got together with them to build Iron Dome./s]

Some Theses:
The Jews of today are not entitled, on any theological basis, to occupy the Holy Land. The Jews lost that entitlement on Good Friday.
The extent to which modern Christian support of the modern State of Israel is based on “Armageddonism” is not sufficiently discussed.
Muslims have no right to occupy the Holy Land, either, and the Muslim nations will eventually be destroyed by Jesus Christ because they are anti-Christ.
I am interested in comments.
“The Jews of today are not entitled, on any theological basis, to occupy the Holy Land. The Jews lost that entitlement on Good Friday.”
Nonsense. Prophecy said they would return, and they did. And they don’t get uprooted again. And they accept their messiah (whoever he turns out to be) and become a light to the world.
That’s what’s in the scripture.
I will strengthen Judah
and save the tribes of Joseph.
I will restore them
because I have compassion on them.
They will be as though
I had not rejected them,
for I am the Lord their God
and I will answer them.
7 The Ephraimites will become like warriors,
and their hearts will be glad as with wine.
Their children will see it and be joyful;
their hearts will rejoice in the Lord.
8 I will signal for them
and gather them in.
Surely I will redeem them;
they will be as numerous as before.
9 Though I scatter them among the peoples,
yet in distant lands they will remember me.
They and their children will survive,
and they will return.
(See Zech
2 I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. . .
6 On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume all the surrounding peoples right and left, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.. .
9 On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.
Mourning for the One They Pierced
10 And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. 11 On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. 12 The land will mourn, each clan by itself, with their wives by themselves: the clan of the house of David and their wives, the clan of the house of Nathan and their wives, 13 the clan of the house of Levi and their wives, the clan of Shimei and their wives, 14 and all the rest of the clans and their wives.

Yacht carrying Demotard Cynthia McKinney crashes into Israeli ship! Her attempt to rescue Hamas fails in misery and humiliation!
by Kylie4USA Posted December 30, 2008
Nutjob former Democratic Representative Cynthia McKinney boarded a ship to rescue Hamas today.
Also on board the "Free Gaza" ship is former Gitmo detainee and Aljazeera reporter Sami Al Hajj. Palestinian News Network reported:
The Free Gaza movement is sending another solidarity ship to the Strip, due this time to the major Israeli attacks. The four previous voyages have set sail in solidarity to the million and a half residents under siege.
The bombings that began on Saturday at 11:30 am have rendered this voyage an even more pressing emergency. The boat has set sail as of early Monday evening.
Organizers say they will conduct as many trips as possible over the next few weeks as the medical and humanitarian situation will be dire whether or not the Israeli bombing stops.
On board the SS Dignity are three to four tons of urgently needed medical supplies. Dr. Khalid at Gaza Citys Al Shifa Hospital told the crew on Saturday that the majority of cases are critical shrapnel wounds from Israeli gunboats and helicopters, with an approximate 80 percent who will not survive.
Among the Free Gaza organizers is Eliza Ernshire who said, We have calls for surgeons willing to go into Gaza and work there throughout this crisis. The doctors inside are exhausted and unable to cope with the number of wounded.
On board the ship expected to set sail on Monday are four physicians. Among them is Dr. Elena Theoharous, a surgeon and member of Cypriot parliament. Former United States Congresswoman and Green Party candidate Cynthia McKinney will also be making the voyage. And local hero, Al Jazeera correspondent formerly imprisoned in Guantanamo, Sami Al Hajj, is also expected.
Charles Johnson has more on this crazy former Democratic Representative.
Another anti-American pursuing a leftist extemist agenda! No wonder she lost--way to go Georgia!
Nope. Though that is the historic chrstian position of which American Fundamentalist Protestants are so ignorant. I welcome American Fundamentalists accepting that their religion is not historical chrstianity but is in fact something quite different. Then they would have to make up their minds which to choose and some (maybe most) of them will chose the Noachide Laws.
The extent to which modern Christian support of the modern State of Israel is based on Armageddonism is not sufficiently discussed.
Historical chrstianity's rejection of a future messianic advent (in favor of a past one that supposedly fulfilled all prophecies "allegorically") is not discussed often enough. But I agree: people should support Jews in Israel because of the Torah, not the "new testament."
Muslims have no right to occupy the Holy Land, either, and the Muslim nations will eventually be destroyed by Jesus Christ because they are anti-Christ.
So, since you reject both Jews and moslems as the true inhabitants, that must mean you want 'Eretz Yisra'el turned into a big international park run by the United Nations. That is the Catholic position, is it not? Not like you guys actually want it.
I am interested in comments.
You just got some. You're welcome.
Thanks.
My position is extremely vague and fluid. I do tend to favor the side that, whatever their faults, builds businesses and doesn’t wrap their children in nail bombs.
That’s Islamophobia! (sarc.)
