Military pressure may be needed to oust Syria's President Bashar al-Assad, US Secretary of State John Kerry said in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
SNIP---
"Ultimately a combination of diplomacy and pressure will be needed to bring about a political transition. Military pressure particularly may be necessary given President Assad's reluctance to negotiate seriously."

You don’t have the relationship quite right. It is an alliance Iran and Assad’s family who are not islamic at all.
The obamaumao’s think they have a moderate Iranian regime to do biz with on nukes, and that the “friends” of Assad will be nullified or controlled by this “change” of type of shiites.
This has the hands of a certain branch of Saud— the Carter Center, all over it. Oh yes, and the liberal left that thinks we can do this— WHILE we are asking the Iranian Air Force for help against ISIS— which the US created. The Saudis would have us bog down with shia lunatics.. to the endpoint of weakening us further. Can assure you Israel is not in favor of it. This is why obamaumao made a special trip with literally EVERYBODY who had a contact with House of Saud (even Sandy Berger for God’s sake) to meet the new Sultan of Saud. All of the lickspittle trough eaters to try to figure out WHO is running what. So now the madrassah’s are up in control over the 79 year old sultan, said to be alzheimer’s.
This is utter complete insanity. And anyone who thinks it can be “managed” by the Muslim Brotherhood is out of their GD minds. The people who want this want the Caliphate complete— and they want it as a soft Caliphate.
Kerri’ the verrry french— who hates Israel... wants US boots on the ground in Syria.. and so does McCain. And Lindsey Graham. One lying bunch of Beltway bandits.
Syria is a real mess, a three-way free-for-all, and yet, we don’t dare to say a word about it to the Qatari’s, who are the ones who provided the millions to ISIS, in the first place?
Holy cow! How on earth did he switch from the negotiations to KEEP Iran in line (LOL) to Assad having to go AGAIN? No wonder we never get anything accomplished in the ME. The ones in charge have the attention span of a gnat.... Leave Assad alone and get those promised weapons to the Peshmerga forces and stop stalling!
Oh yeah— the haberdasher’s brilliant view of realpolitik.
A two dimensional man if there ever was one. Field artillery juniorling, with a junior mentality. Thank God they didn’t tell him about the A-bomb until they had to.
No good can come out of any kind of mentality like this— and, no good did. Because he was advised by Stalin’s agents and did what they told him in the final analysis. Many many people needlessly suffered and died.
Perhaps Kerry can send in James Taylor again.
Didn’t Pelosi when she was # 3 in the presidental assumption visit old “no Chin”. I thought they were buddies.
Is Kerry recommending Iran or ISIS as the successor government?
Johnny just wants to raze Syrian villages in a manner reminiscent of Gingivitis Khan.
Chaka Khan?
Did Attila’s wife call him `hun’?
Never mind.
Yes, he is. ISIS is OUR creation, dontcha know. This commentary from Kerri’ is for the dumbasses of the US and for the mil-industrial complex.
We should have stayed in Iraq as Bush said to— to transition and root out these caliphate sunni dreamers, and keep Iran out of Iraqi politics.
But nooooo, the morons voted in obamaumao, hitlery and jean kerri’. Assad knows how to get rid of the Sunnis’ as to the Kurds for their homeland.. Because noone wants Erdogan or Turkey as the caliph.
It serves the caliphate seeking inner muslims of US policy, that’s why. And they ALL need to be taken out— one way or another.
This false, joke of a religion— real estate by warfare as religion, where all perversions are OK— all of them.
Bingo— Hezbollah ..... gone, eliminated.
I think tensions between Israel and Syria would diminish significantly if Hezbollah were gone.
Absolutely. In the meantime, Iran's Quds force is filling the vacuum in Iraq on the road to Damascus for a linkup with Hezbollah....then, on to Lebanon.
I’ll take a haberdasher’s opinion over an Ivy League nitwit any day. Divide and conquer has been an effective strategy throughout history.
So who do you want to win, Iran or ISIS?
I am soooo confused...
"Lonely are the brave."
. . . or clear the deck for Iran to take control
"Lonely are the brave."
I heard an interview this morning with some guy who said that as bad as Assad is, if taken out, who or what ever fills the void will be worse.
Given the history over there, I suspect the guy is right. There simply is no fixing the M.E. Just protect Israel, get the Keystone oil flowing and let the sand absorb their blood when the kill each other.
