Obama says there's no 'legal basis' for the Supreme Court to dismantle Obamacare subsidies and defends the lack of a Plan B if he's wrong
Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on Wednesday in a case that could gut the Affordable Care Act
Planitiffs say the law itself forbids the federal government from offering insurance subsidies in states that didn't set up their own exchanges
Dozens of states opted to let Healthcare.gov sell policies to their citizens, and those people could be left twisting if the court rules against Obama
Republicans say Congress has a 'Plan B' but it's likely the White House would resist it
They would offer consumers temporary financial assistance and give states new permissions to fashion their insurance markets differently
President Barack Obama said on Monday that he thinks there is no 'plausible legal basis' for the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down a key plank of Obamacare, and also defended his administration's lack of a contingency plan if he's wrong.
He also promised to make a final determination on the Keystone XL pipeline before he leaves office, although he would not say whether it will take him 'weeks or months' to determine whether the project is in the national interest.
Obama touched on both policy issues during an interview with Reuters.
On the Affordable Care Act, his signature policy achievement commonly referred to as Obamacare, the Supreme Court is set to hear oral arguments on Wednesday in the case known as King v. Burwell.

I immediately thought of Obi Won waving his hand and the “these aren’t the drones your looking for” Jedi mind trick.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
That’s just 0bama’s way of saying “nice little court ya got there. Be a shame if something happened to it.”
The part that everyone is missing of course(You dummies):
“Republicans say Congress has a ‘Plan B’ but it’s likely the White House would resist it
They would offer consumers temporary financial assistance and give states new permissions to fashion their insurance markets differently”
In other words republicans want to legislate the subsidies back in. Just as I predicted.
I just loathe President Obama.
Among his numerous faults, he’s got the maturity of a 14 year old. The supreme court wouldn’t be taking up this case if there wasn’t a chance there was something wrong with it. This isn’t rocket science. It’s his reality. It’s his job to have a Plan B whether he wants to or not....whether he thinks it’s fair or not.
Basically all of this unconstitutional stuff he’s been doing the last few years has been a good laugh for him...mocking the Congress as ‘obstructionist’ when they call him on it.....all while he’s got the wind of a compliant media at his back.
With all that said, he’s still simply on poor legal footing on a lot of fronts (Obamacare, executive amnesty, IRS scandal). If the legal poop falls on him, like it should if there is a God and a Constitution, I wonder what Obama is going to do? The snark and ‘the blame the GOP for being haters’ routine won’t exactly work for him anymore.
Would he really defy the court like he does the constitution and the congress and just implement his plans anyway? My guess is yes!!! This man loves conflict and is a hater at his core. Nothing would thrill Obama more than being impeached for being in contempt of the Supreme Court.
You can just see he badly wants this conflict...this impeachment... so he can stir the racial, social, and political pot into a sea of protests and violence. It his way...even if not everyone can see that yet. I hope I’m wrong.
In any case, we’re in for an interesting summer because Obama doesn’t follow the law or the rules, but the law and the rules are going to follow him whether he likes it or not. That’s all I can say.
Well, Hussein Baraka has spoken. Lets fold up our tents and get back on our camels and ride on out of Washington./S
See, guys, I told you: no need for three branches of government.
Dear Reader Knows All.
“Obama says there’s no ‘legal basis’ for the Supreme Court to dismantle Obamacare subsidies”
Sorry people, but PRESIDENT OBAMA IS CORRECT here. The Supreme Court has NO LEGAL BASIS to dismantle subsidies for state-run insurance exchanges...they cannot be dismantled. That was decided in 2012.
Obviously subsidies for federally-run exchanges can be dismantled, since the law never authorized them. That is a no-brainer.
The USSC (United Socialists Supreme Court) is complicit in TOTALITARIANCARE. Marxists bickering on the margins ALERT!
Obama says there’s no ‘legal basis’ for the Supreme Court to dismantle Obamacare subsidies
Is Obama a Lawyer?? NO
Has he ever been a Licensed Attorney?? NO
I’ve known this for quite a while about leftists and liberals, but it’s really starting to hit home lately.
Their supporters really DON’T CARE what the law is or says.
“As long as he’s doing the right thing, I don’t care if the law says he can’t.”
And of course, the elite who get elected to the federal gov’t, or work for its agencies, inherently know and do “the right thing” every time.
Take the "type of coverage" mandated by Obamacare away and what happens?
I'll bet 80% or more of those that signed up on the Federal exchange have been getting free healthcare already (Medicaid)and pay nothing.
Then there's employer penalties.
Then there's "30 hours" item.
The whole thing is a farce
Let’s see what happens. The key is the word “mandatory”.
“Lets see what happens. The key is the word mandatory.”
I believe that fits in with the definition of Insanity.
Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
The fix is in!!!!
There is no legal basis for ObamaCare.
