You may have noticed that the media likes to run critical stories about Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker sometimes without doing much checking first.
As the Walker for president talk gains steam, you can expect to see more media attempts to break him in. Thats to be expected. But for now, that might be less important than the media he does have in his corner.
Consider how rapid Walkers rise has been. As late as November, he usually polled in the single digits. Public Policy Polling had Walker at 5 percent last March, compared to 25 percent in its latest poll.
The turnaround in Iowa is even more pronounced. Walked typically polled around 5 percent of the vote last year, with his best performance in a survey of possible GOP caucus-goers 8 percent. In late January, he broke into the double digits for the first time. Two February polls had him in first place with more than 20 percent of the vote, which happens to be his Real Clear Politics polling average in the state.
Ditto New Hampshire, where Walkers best performance last year was just 7 percent. Hes been pretty consistently in the double digits since then, even though Jeb Bush, Rand Paul and Chris Christie are all strong in the first-in-the-nation primary too. Gravis Marketing had Walker as high as 23 percent in February.....

[Rush] Limbaugh has long joked about fighting with half his brain tied behind his back, just to make it fair. Maybe thats all the fairness Walker needs.

It really jumped out at me when he said we, we, we. I thought, “If that was Obama, it would be I, I, I.”
Frankly, anyone who is brave enough to take on the unions, and succeed, is pretty solid.
Yup!
There was a time when Democrats were Democrats; too!
These liberal/socialist/Progressives we have today sure as HELL are NOT like the Dems of old!
“Im betting Rush ends up backing Cruz.”
The article infers that Rush is officially backing Walker. Rush has stated that he has not endorsed any candidate.
Rush may eventually endorse Cruz if Ted gets the nomination - because Ted is a true Conservative. I think Rush would endorse several of the current candidates as well. After all, it looks as though the Democrats are planning to run Hillary Clinton in 2016.
I think Rush would endorse any Republican running against Hillary - but unless the GOP runs a Conservative - his endorsement may be tepid.
Nice to see the cream rise to the top, for a change. I hope he stays there.
American Thinker:......."Given the poll bias, in my mind, Scott Walker was the true winner. I did not see his speech, but the poll suggests that Walker left CPAC in the strongest position with the party faithful of any prospective future GOP presidential candidate. Washington insider The Hill agrees, writing:
His performance didnt have the same fervor as his acclaimed speech last month to the Iowa Freedom Forum, but it didnt matter. Walkers CPAC straw poll placing -- a close second behind the favorite Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) -- shows he got the most bounce out of the event. His showing was especially impressive given that he lacks the organizational muscle of the likes of Paul and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), who finished fifth.
And he deserves it. While from a messaging and charisma standpoint, my personal favorite is Ted Cruz, Walker has been tested in an unprecedented, relentless, vicious, four-year trial by fire from Democrats, unions, and the media. He is the first governor ever to survive a recall election, and despite a national effort by unions and Obamas left, he won handily. Same with his re-election. Walker has survived unsullied by a four-year secret probe that vies with the IRS scandal as one of the greatest systematic abuses of governmental power in recent memory. Corrupt prosecutors used the power of the bizarre John Doe law in a vicious attempt to shut down the GOP throughout the state and destroy Scott Walkers re-election prospects. The only mystery is why Milwaukee County DA John Chisholm and his assistant, Bruce Landgraf, are not in jail. Against all these odds, Walker has governed effectively introducing changes and reforms that have reversed the states downward economic slide, balancing the budget, and cutting taxes.".....
More on this vicious John Doe" business.
Rush is best friends with Karl Rove. He said so on his show. I lost any remaining respect I had for Rush at that point.
People change their minds on major issues as well. I’ve personally changed mine on infanticide, religion, and political affiliation (or lack thereof) over the space of my lifetime.
As for November 2016. If amnesty is tour make or break issue, I’d start making other plans now. Nice weather for a vacation.
“Im thinking different on amnesty. They havent been able to pass anything on it by legal means and now the EO route is in at least some trouble. I dont see it happening.”
We’ll see. I don’t like to underestimate the tenacity or duplicity of the uniparty.
“Case in point. Wasnt Reagan once a Democrat?”
Yup. As was yours truly. People do change their minds. Those who don’t are better characterized as zealots.
We’re not talking about the incessant waffling on every issue ala John F’n Kerry. We’re talking about the occasional change of a few positions based on a re-examination of facts or premises. It does happen, and if its sincere and in the direction we want it to go, why would it upset us?
I’m not saying that we should throw all caution to the wind and support Scott Walker. Frankly, he isn’t on my A list. But we should tolerate an occasional and sincere change of position when its in the right direction.
Not that that's ever happened before.............
People need to realize there ain't no perfect candidate and if there was, his name would likely be JESUS...........And there would still be folks around here criticizing Him for whatever petty reason.........
I really don’t need your advice
If the Lamestream keeps criticizing him and he moves up in the polls...obviously they aren't criticizing him enough! They should double down!
Accuse him of having an illegitimate child! Being a closet S&Mer! Tell everyone he's in favor of rape on campus!
“I really don’t need your advice”
So don’t post. You won’t be missed.
On the other hand, he's clearly NOT like Jeb, or the chamber of commerce as some here post (many posters knowing they are exaggerating), he's no where near that.
I'm watching this unfold, trying to see which candidate to back, and there is much to like about Walker. The thing I like the most is his enemies: The MSM, who is churning around, and trying to make everyone hate him while actually failing (so far); The unions, good grief do they hate him. All hard leftists, especially the totalitarian groups (one third of our country). The education establishment despises him. Ivy leaguers despise him. The Gope has been reluctant to support him, pulling support in his recall and his reelection.
I like those things.
I also like that he has done what he has promised he would. He has established conservative principles in a blue state that have worked.
That's a lot to commend. I like Cruz, could get behind him, but Walker is (so far) more than acceptable as an alternative.
Uh....you can be friends with lots of folks without sharing their values or tactics.
I’ll bet that haven’t been voting for the same folks in the primaries.
“Illegal immigration is my number one issue above all else because if they are allowed to become citizens we are lost as a country, frankly. Once that gate is passed successfully, then the rest of the concerns can follow.”
You’re wise, because in California we have already lived that. You can either learn from us or repeat our experience. It’s really questionable whether we are still part of the United States, at least as far as culture and voting goes.
Same for you
