Then I guess I’m voting for nobody.
I will not cave for the lesser of evils. Evil is still that and this country will be destroyed by illegals.
The problem is that with the dumbing down of our schools, the only employees that are capable of doing most work are foreign.
It is a catch 22.
Well I am currently looking at:
(in order of preference)
Sarah Palin
Scott Walker
Ted Cruz
Rick Perry
Donald Trump
(I know, I just like the guy)
That is at present and can change completely.
Anyone on that list, impress you?
I like the people on your list, though in a slightly different order. None of them are perfect on immigration, but oh well. They are better than the alternatives.
I shall REPEAT what I said earlier.
In 2006, Walker basically wasn’t paying attention, which is a bad sign for starters, but recoverable. BUT THEN, he felt he had to take a side. The BASE was SCREAMING AT BUSH to NOT agree to Amnesty, while the Bush and the DEMOCRATS wanted it really bad.
Walker sided with Bush and the Democrats. It will be difficult to trust him on future issues if his instincts ARE NOT WITH THE BASE.
How can anyone maintain a position on anything when the government realeases faulty statistics on everything of importance.
What about Walker’s reported support for “comprehensive immigration reform” also known as amnesty back in 2002 when he signed a bill in support of it as Milwaukee County executive.
“What Walker did sign was a resolution with the following conclusion:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors does hereby express its support for comprehensive immigration reform legislation that will provide greater opportunity for undocumented working immigrants to obtain legal residency in the United States and joins the AFL-CIO, the U.S. Catholic Conference, the National Conference of Catholic Bishops and other leading business, religious and civic leaders and organizations as well as the City of Milwaukee in urging the U.S. Congress to adopt such legislation.
Walkers campaign team says thats not amnesty. “

I think the key is that the GOP wants “comprehensive immigration reform”, AKA legalize the illegals and pretend to get tough on enforcement.
The 2016 GOP nomination will go to someone who supports it, whether they admit to it or not. If a candidate campaigns against it, and is elected, they’ll suddenly discover how bad the problem is after they assume office, and flip-flop on it.
The GOP likes power more than it values the law, and will pander to hispanics, hoping that they will be to the GOP as blacks are to the Democrats.
Unfortunately, this is short-sighted, and will result in America turning into a third-world cesspool.
We are on the same page Triple E.
We have NO need for H1B. Sad that Cruz supports amnesty in many forms. Letting H1B come and stay, pushing out Americans, lowering our wages is wrong. Sorry, beyond Sessions, I really do not trust any to stop illegal immigration and deport illegals. Walker no better or worse on this. Watching both.
No substantive changes have occurred. We have had de facto amnesty for a couple of decades. 0bama just declared it slightly more officially, if unconstitutionally.
What part of the previous horde of invaders did Walker oppose?
I agree. Most Repubs who oppose amnesty try to innoculate themselves from charges that they are anti-immigrant by calling for expanded H1B and expanded legal immigration. My guy Cruz, included. But in fact with as many people unemployed as we have, and with tech salaries flat-lining, we don't need to expand H1B.
This is FUD people! Wake up!!!!!
Tough crowd here. Why can’t you just accept that he means what he says. Maybe he is telling the truth, the last few years have made many people more anti-amnesty. He sure is right on so many other things and is about the closest thing to conservative purity that we have seen in many years. I’m Walker or Cruz, either one of them is fine with me.
Good point. The only person I’ve heard in Congress taking a hard stance on illegal immigration and amnesty has been Jeff Sessions. Cruz or Walker will be the eventual GOP nominee and it’s obvious both have not taken the firm stance Sessions has. Neither one of these guys is going to deport the illegals already here.
Yep, biggest reason NOT to jump on the bandwagon.
I am staying with Cruz as my pick. Hopefully I am not throwing my saddle on a wind broke pony.
I am one. In my youth I had a fairly romantic notion of what open-borders would mean. In the last decade or two I have reversed course completely. Part of it might be gray hair, but most of it is what I have seen happening over the last 20 years, including the serial betrayals by our politicians on exactly this subject.
Maybe we should draft Jeff Sessions to run for President.
If the illegal aliens dont return home and apply like everybody else who really IS an immigrant, then it is amnesty.
We either have the rule of law or we dont.
We must elect a President who WILL uphold the rule of law after this one who wont.
I hope hes not just saying this because he thinks he has to and then doesn’t follow through. Bush actually decreased border and interior enforcement after 9/11.
Shades of Mitt. I’m just not into the guy. Sorry.
