Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Oxon Hill, Md., on Feb. 26, 2015. Cruz was questioned by Fox television personality Sean Hannity. (CNSNews.com/Penny Starr) (CNSNews.com) - Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said among his top five priorities for the United States is to abolish the IRS at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Oxon Hill, Md., on Thursday.
Sean Hannity of Fox News asked Cruz what his top five agenda items are for the country.
Number one, said Cruz. Repeal every blasted word of Obamacare.
Number two, abolish the IRS, take all 125,000 IRS agents and put them on our southern border, said the senator.
Number three, stop the out of control regulators at the EPA and the alphabet soup of Washington.
Number four, defend our constitutional rights - all of them, and
number five, restore Americas leadership in the world as a shining city on a hill.
Hannity also asked Cruz to say the first words that came to his mind when he mentioned some names.
Hillary Clinton, Hannity said.
Washington, replied Cruz.
Bill Clinton, Hannity said.
Youth outreach, Cruz joked.
Barack Hussein Obama, Hannity said.
Lawless Imperator, said Cruz.
Oh, yes, secure the borders!
Great list, btw. All good.
i agree. eliminate that control and you have an economic boom. That’s why it is a tea party. glass tax, tea tax, etc.
Shut down the Democrat money laundering mechanisms (union dues being recycled into DNC coffers, liberal special interests that receive tax money that finds its way back to liberal politicians, etc). Also clean out Department of State and pick someone as AG who would be ruthless in going after Dem politicians who have been acting criminally in office.
HOORAY Ted!
Why shouldn’t the IRS be abolished?
BTW...
I agree with the list you posted.
Rename the Department of Interior since they only deal with things outdoors.
Half of the apparatchiks would sooner join ISIS than fight them.
Ted Cruz is right on track.
It is time we “Domestic terrorists” lined up behind him and forsake all others. Total annihilation of the rest of the field. Forget they even exist.
Bullsquat! The IRS can be abolished and replaced by a few federal maggot employees from Treasury charged with making sure the states send in their portion of the national sales tax on a quarterly basis.
Computers could enable weekly or daily deposits, but I want the states to have the power to halt payments whenever the feds engage in the kind of faggotry that brings harm to the state in question.
I’ve met a number of H&R Block people who would love a flat tax.
But there is no danger of it ever happening. Congress won’t give up the power. Heck, my GOP Senator from Arizona (McFlake) just voted to approve Obama’s AG pick.
I don’t want Cruz to make nonsensical, will never happen goals. I’d be happy if he could just get minimal conservative goals - such as defeat Obama’s AG pick. If we cannot manage that, why pretend anything else will happen?
The question regarding their success or failure is... will the RINOs work against them?
5.Defund the left.
You could only accomplish this if you abolish the IRS.
Same could probably be said for you other 5 points.
That was a great answer and one that probably made Shillary grind her teeth.
“will the RINOs work against them?”
Ha funny, they already are.
I agree that a revenue raising arm of the Federal Govt will always be with us but that's not a reason not to abolish the Income Tax. In my view we should also get rid of any tax that discourages employers from hiring US citizens, such as FICA and Obamacare. Roll those Revenue streams into a national Sales tax/ V.A.T.
Cruz/Carson...that’s a joke, right?
Far and away the best conservative choice. Not even close.
I love Cruz. Cruz to Victory!!!
