During a speech at Cornell University earlier this week, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry said she hopes Trayvon Martin “whooped the s**t out of’ George Zimmerman during the fatal confrontation that led to Martin’s death in 2012.
For the university’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Lecture, Harris-Perry delivered remarks entitled “We Can’t Breathe: The Continuing Consequences of Inequality.” The campus conservative newspaper, The Cornell Review, published video from the event showing the MSNBC host saying the following about the night Martin was fatally shot by Zimmerman:
I hope [Martin] tried to stay alive. I hope he knew that he lived in a state with a “Stand Your Ground’ law. And I hope he whooped the shit out of George Zimmerman. And it’s not disreputable because he encountered a stranger who was prepared to kill him, and you know how I know? Because he killed him.

Just one more reason NEVER to watch MSNBC. I remember the days when no TV newscaster would consider making such a statement as it would cost them their employment. Now, we have half wits like her making disgusting statements. Yet, her employer, MSNBC, does nothing.
George Zimmerman, carried within his veins some white blood. Some white people kept slaves in America. So did some black people and members of Native American Tribes, but that's hardly germane, now is it?
Crime Timeline: Trayvon Martin had just left Bible Study and was on his way to drop off hot dinners for elderly housebound white ladies for Meals on Wheels. An Honor Student, he was somewhat distracted by an interesting Physics problem they had covered that day in AP Science. As he walked along, he hummed part of an aria from The Magic Flute one of his Mozartean favorites. Contemplating a career as a Rap Artist, Mr. Martin was nonetheless influenced by classical composers. Suddenly, The partially white Zimmerman pulled his non-EPA compliant SUV violently in front of the young Mr. Martin. The partially white racist leapt from the driver's seat and charged. However he stumbled, fell, and cracked his head smartly on the pavement as he drew his automatic assault weapon, rendering himself unconscious.
Young Trayvon (aka "The Flower of the 'Hood"), a true humanitarian, rushed to render aid. Just as he was starting CPR, George Zimmerman, the partially white racist, regained consciousness and shot him with his automatic assault weapon.
At the time, Trayvon had been sharing his Mozart with a young woman on his cell phone. As she testified, she heard the whole thing in real time on the 'open mike,' as Trayvon was martyred.
Now that is how it went down. To hold otherwise is racist, gender-normative, hegemonic, eurocentric, imperial, patriarchal, and like really politically incorrect.

He did and he got shot by a man protecting his life.
Sweet Little Trayvon did not try to stay alive. He could easily have stayed alive by going straight to his own home instead of casing other homes for burglaries. He could have stayed alive by not attacking a stranger and then by not attempting to murder an innocent person. She got her wish in one respect. Sweet Little Trayvon did beat the tar out of his victim - which is why Sweet Little Trayvon became Saint Trayvon and why Saint Trayvon is no longer a danger to society. As for "stand your ground", I hope this lovely woman is smart enough to understand that SYG had nothing to do with this case, and that she is just acting like she cares about SYG.
The folks at DU think she is a genius.

Boy, am I glad I got that off my chest. It was not dissimilar to expelling an odoriferous, intestinal gas bubble that was causing pain in my gut, if you get my "drift". Whew!
Maybe she could find herself in a similar situation sometime. Not sure how many would be inclined to help if they knew her & her attitude beforehand.

Can someone explain who this woman is, I just started hearing about the crazy crap this woman has been saying for the past little while, I know she is mixed and is uber left but that’s it currently.
