The Brian Williams suspension has caused a shake-up at MSNBC. The Daily Beast is reporting that Rev. Al Sharpton may lose his nightly time slot. Politics Nation with Al Sharpton, has aired since 2011 and has had a successful run.
At issue is a steady slide in viewership....Chris Hayes is to be replaced by the Rachel Maddow Show. Maddow moves from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m., while a search is underway for a new host for the vacant time slot.
Sharptons show is rumored to be moving from nightly 6 p.m. to weekend-only. Sharpton attracts a solid 35 percent Black audience and is considered a lightning rod of controversy because of his activism on behalf of the oppressed. There has been no word from the Sharpton camp on the rumored changes.
The source at MSNBC stated the programming decisions were part of a change in MSNBC'S political mindset: Going left was a brilliant strategy while it lasted, and made hundreds of millions of dollars for Comcast, but now it doesnt work anymore
...The goal is to move away from left-wing TV.
and they are going to shut him down? contradictory.
Am I right, Neil Patrick Harris? Up high!
bunch of racists..
Going left was a brilliant strategy while it lasted, and made hundreds of millions of dollars for Comcast”
Yeah, right.
This one statement throws serious doubt on the credibility of this source and everything else they are claiming. MSNBC is LOSING money and its audience has shrunk to the size of a smaller mid-western city.
On the other hand, it doesn’t take a genius to predict The Rev will get the boot considering the size of HIS audience is about the same as a SMALL mid-western city.
Sharpton's 2003 e-mail to Honda "We cannot be silent while African-Americans spend hard-earned dollars with a company that does not hire, promote or do business with us in a statistically significant manner."
Sharpton raised $1 million for NAN at his 60th birthday bash in October, with donations rolling in from unions and a corporate roster of contributors including AT&T, McDonalds, Verizon and Walmart.
Companies have gotten in line to pay Sharpton. Macys and Pfizer forked over thousands to NAN, as have General Motors, American Honda and Chrysler.

I sincerely hope "payments" to Al were properly disclosed to shareholders of publicy-traded companies.

That is debatable to say the least.
NBC is getting rid off its liars.
Which means they are getting out of the news business.
I'd like to see their accounting. They must have valued MSNBC viewers at $1,000,000.00 each.
Al's "activism" is on behalf of his bank account.
Al Sharpton will probably join BET. It’s another program channel preaching to the preached!
<><> MSNBC Corporate finances Sharpton's Ntl Action Network (NAN);
<><>Comcast is also one of Sharpton's financial backers
<><> MSNBC AND COMCAST are reportedly negotiating to buy Sharpton's NAN network.

When it started, MSNBC featured John Gibson, Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter.
Then why are they still using the ‘MS’ in the name?.............
On the lighter brighter side many of those companies advertised on his worthless program... so it was shake-down after stupid shake-down. Guilty white liberal companies that pay off thuggy deserve what they get. (which in this case is nothing... no eyes on their ads...)
They lost a lawsuit, IIRC. MS was an original partner in naming it and didn’t retain the ability to take back the ‘MS’ if it should be sold, I think.
It successfully spawned a series of “Al Sharpton vs. the teleprompter” youtube videos.
If you're white and you act the way Sharpton acts, you're called a racist. If you're black and you act that way, you're called an "activist."
