The Brian Williams suspension has caused a shake-up at MSNBC. The Daily Beast is reporting that Rev. Al Sharpton may lose his nightly time slot. Politics Nation with Al Sharpton, has aired since 2011 and has had a successful run.
At issue is a steady slide in viewership....Chris Hayes is to be replaced by the Rachel Maddow Show. Maddow moves from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m., while a search is underway for a new host for the vacant time slot.
Sharptons show is rumored to be moving from nightly 6 p.m. to weekend-only. Sharpton attracts a solid 35 percent Black audience and is considered a lightning rod of controversy because of his activism on behalf of the oppressed. There has been no word from the Sharpton camp on the rumored changes.
The source at MSNBC stated the programming decisions were part of a change in MSNBC'S political mindset: Going left was a brilliant strategy while it lasted, and made hundreds of millions of dollars for Comcast, but now it doesnt work anymore
...The goal is to move away from left-wing TV.
He’ll have to become an FBI stool-pigeon again.
Talk about George Orwell territory!
MSNBC does not need to be financially successful. It is a small part of Comcast/NBCUniversal. Search-engine it to see just how vast NBCUniversal is.
The first thing they need to do is get rid of the COMCAST CEO. The next thing is to get rid of Phil Griffin at MSNBC and then clean house to include Rachel Maddow and start over.
Is anybody in this country ‘oppressed’ any more?
I can’t think of any truly ‘oppressed’ people at all, unless you want to call people that are too sorry to get off their couches and make something of themselves ‘oppressed’................
Afaid to laugh too!
Uh-oh, time for ‘ol Sahrpton to fire up the rent a mobs and standby rabble-rousers for a little late night picketing over the racial injustices at MSNBC!
Your post begs a question - shut down by whom?
I would think that if someone other than the gov’t was dumping money down a loser rathole like this, they’d stop doing it.
As long as the gov’t isn’t stealing my money to keep MSNBC afloat,
I don’t care if some libs are dumping their money on it.
Al Sharpton can do an embedded feature report.
Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.

Yep, the “activism on behalf of the oppressed” bit sticks out like a sore thumb.
Oppressed? Seriously?
I guess 50 years of hand outs, set asides, affirmative action, grants, food stamps, housing assistance, free medical care, educational stipends, transportation assistance, child care, and an almost endless list of other social programs doesn’t count for anything.
Where do I sign up for this kind of oppression? Oh, that’s right. White, male, Christian, conservative, working taxpayers need not apply...
Microsoft is long gone from MSNBC. They even tried to force it to drop the ‘MS’ from the title.
Moving away from left wing tv...I will believe it when I see it. These people care more about their agenda than profits...it`s very clear.
Oh so when does the gay girl and Matthews, And Ed and every single person on the network leave?
There is Nobody currently at MSNBC that is not a flaming lib.
Back when they first started Mr Kitty liked to watch Soledad O’Brien and the avatar guy.
Haven’t watched it much since then.
I can understand part of that, but what does FBI and pigeon have to do with it?
The strategy worked and made hundreds of millions BECAUSE left-wing ad agencies suckered American companies into costly advertising on MSNBC... for almost ZERO return.
Car companies with their greedy little hands out to Uncle Sam deserved to be suckered... the rest of the companies didn't.
Oh - and FOX news is being treated to sickening ads by the same liberal elite ad agencies... they need to switch... and quickly.
...due to saturation
(AKA...too much of a good bad thing)
Need to demand "affirmative action" over the airwaves and in academia...heh, fat chance.
(you see...progressive/communist blacklisting bad, traditional/conservative blacklisting good)
