Disgraced NBC News anchor Brian Williams has resigned from the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation’s board of directors.
In a statement announcing the resignation Thursday, foundation president Ron Rand did not elaborate on Williams’ reason for the decision.
Williams, 55, has been on the foundation’s board since 2006. The organization supports the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, which presents the country’s highest military award for acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty.
NBC brass suspended Williams last week for six months without pay after he was caught lying about being on a military helicopter that was hit by a rocket propelled grenade during the Iraq War in 2003.
They probably asked him to resign.

Why would a member of the media be on this board? I would think that, based on the name alone, it would disqualify anyone other than congressmen from being on the board. Such an incestuous relationship between government and media....

He has to cut all existing ties before he begins rehabilitating his reputation. After a short break, he will write a book (or have one written for him). Then will make the talk show circuit and finally back to NBC but not in front of the camera.
Personally I would have thought an on air (heartfelt) apology would have been enough. For so much piling on I have to think someone in power must really be pissed at him.

I never liked those leeches in congress attaching their name to the Medal of Honor anyway. Where do they get off?

The credibility of the press got Obama elected. He has called that credibility into question, not just for himself, but for the entire legacy media. It’s necessary for them all to point their finger and jeer. In so doing they exonerate themselves from any taint of lying and salvage their credibility so they can continue as agents of Progressivism.
A phony narcissistic lying member of the Propaganda machine known as journalism. He and his ilk are polluting our culture with their ideology under the guise of objective news and science.
They need to be condemned for this breach of trust and honesty, and they need to be held accountable and suffer consequences.
Brian Williams is simply a natural product of Leftism...Lots of Talk resulting in the decay and death of all that is good and true.
