The Jewish community is an integral part of Danish society and it ought to remain in the country despite this weekends terror attacks, Copenhagens envoy to Israel said on Sunday.
The solution for the Jews of Denmark is not to leave in the wake of the terror attacks in Copenhagen on Saturday, the ambassador, Jesper Vahr, said on Sunday. Our prime minister said that an attack on the Jewish community is an attack on all of Denmarks citizens. I echo this sentiment. We will do everything in our power so that the Jewish community in Denmark feels safe.
Vahr made the statements in response to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus earlier entreaties for Danish Jews to relocate to Israel.

Okay, Denmark, the country, contradicted Netanyahu, an individual. Did all of Denmark, stand as one, and contradict him, or did just one petty political opportunist, trying to show how open minded and definitely not antisemitic he was contradict him?
A classic example of metonymy?
Denmark, to its credit, blew up its own naval ships to keep the nazis from using them and saved most of its Jewish population by moving them. nazis be damned. Any country who doesn’t value its Jewish population be damned.
Let’s see Denmark start kicking behinds, executing terrorists, and closing borders.
Denmark was a lot more proactive against the nazis than most.
It may be a myth, but it is an indication that the King was supportive -- there is no similar myth from France or the Netherlands. For obvious reasons.
I see that, let us find out whether that courage is still in their children’s and grandchildren’s spines 70 years later.
Metonymy - is a figure of speech in which a thing or concept is called not by its own name but rather by the name of something associated in meaning with that thing or concept.
The words “metonymy” and “metonym” come from the Greek: metonymía, “a change of name”, from metá, “after, beyond” and onymía, a suffix used to name figures of speech, from ónyma or ónoma, “name”.
For instance, “Wall Street” is often used metonymously to describe the U.S. financial and corporate sector, while “Hollywood” is used as a metonym for the U.S. film industry because of the fame and cultural identity of Hollywood, a district of the city of Los Angeles, California, as the historical center of film studios and film stars.[4] The national capital is often used to represent the government or monarchy of a country, such as “Washington” for United States government or “Downing Street” for the Government of the United Kingdom.
In addition to its use in everyday speech, metonymy is a figure of speech in some poetry and in much rhetoric. Greek and Latin scholars of rhetoric made significant contributions to the study of metonymy.

Typical Liberal speak.
How about using the word is?
That’s easy to say when you don’t have a bull’s painted on your back.
Denmark needs to urge the Muzzies to go.
I don’t understand what you are trying to say.
Any Jews who remained in Europe following WWII are nuts.
Reading between the lines... "Vee are preparing ferry special places vere Joos vill be ferry, ferry safe and vill be able to verk hard and become frei."
Get rid of the Muslims, and the problem will be solved.
According to a Bibi-tweet, not just Dane, but every Jew, everywhere. “We welcome you with open arms.” While lovely it is at the same time sad that it should come to this.
If the Danish Minister said they would deport Muslims back to their Medieval hell-holes, perhaps the civilized Jews would have a reason to stay.
oops bull’s eye! Sorry...not enough coffee
