there are a lot of Brian Williams fabrications. Like, a lot. And yesterdays suspension of the anchor over revelations that he exaggerated stories from the Iraq War allegedly stemmed from a larger internal investigation at NBC, with enough findings to compile a full dossier and enough allegations to prompt an overview of his expense accounts.
...
sources at NBC say that Williams history of stretching the truth was well-known, and NBC execs had tried to curb his habits for the past decade:
...
NBC was also investigating his expense accounts for reasons unknown

Yep, when they announced the “suspension” I knew there was no way he was ever going to come back, they just needed more time to get their ducks in a row, legal-wise, before making it official.
NBC maybe looking for a way to get out of the contract paying him $12 million per year?
I wonder how his wife, “Morgan Fairchild”, is taking it?
Even Maureen Dowd of the NYT says he was suspicious.

I know my fellow Deadline Hollywood forum posters are goofing on this LOL!
That pretty bad if Michael Douglas ex lady friend turn on you LOL!
...so it’s lie ‘til they catch you...
That's just checkbook journalism at it's finest, a payment made to guarantee ready access to Cankles should she move into the White Hut in 2017.
There were may witnesses to his lies.
The Iraq helicopter lie had pilots, crew chief, security, mechanics and other [ dozens to hundreds ] GIs on the ground who would have seen any alleged damage.
Plus all the media NBC camera, sound, hairdresser, make-up ... staff.
He should be fired and that’s it! Six months suspension allows him to ride off into the sunset.
It’s NOT just Brian... I am sure it’s the culture of, ‘mediocre is OK’!
I imagine his expense report has items such as Batmobile, ninja fighting lessons, light saber.
NBC knew exactly what they had. They knew about the lies and did nothing for the sake of ratings. Anything else is smoke and mirrors and hind covering.
I can’t believe NBC and the MSM just found out about this now. The question is why did they keep it under wraps until just now?

The original report (helicopter one) shown on NBC was partially fabricated. NBC included radio chatter from the Chinook that WAS hit as if it was chatter from Lyin’ Brian’s helo. LB didn’t do that all by himself - lots of folks had to be in on it. LB, as fabulists are wont to do, kept embellishing the story and talking about it - when the vets finally called him on it via Stars & Stripes (& stolen valor became part of the story), I think it finally got too hot for NBC. LB will get a deal ..... he’ll threaten to sue because he wasn’t the only one “fabricating” things at NBC, who is suddenly so very worried about “credibility”.
Reminds me of a story an accountant told me. He said a salesman had been sent to Texas for about six months and was pissed off about it. So while he was there he found another job. When he quit he handed in a huge expense report. There was one small item they went round and round about and the company finally said flatly they were not going to pay it. The salesman said “That’s fine. But you never did find those cowboy boots.”
Oh how the mighty one is falling...
hu hu...get some...
Hey, fake progressive heroism is expensive.
