there are a lot of Brian Williams fabrications. Like, a lot. And yesterday’s suspension of the anchor over revelations that he exaggerated stories from the Iraq War allegedly stemmed from a larger internal investigation at NBC, with enough findings to compile a full dossier and enough allegations to prompt an overview of his expense accounts.

Didn’t he have an exhaustively researched story on the Mustang Ranch coming out soon? I understand they wanted to do a couple more field research trips to get some of the last details to wrap up the story.

Seems to be catching. I know a very powerful person suffering from the same thing. Hummmm..
But, but, but we just heard about this only about 10 years ago or so ...
This does not go deep enough. Who is investigating NBC? What did NBC know and when did they know it? Network anchors do not travel around alone. Who was on that helicopter? Where there are producers, and technicians that go along. Didn’t they notice this William’s story was off? What kind of culture exists at NBC where the truth doesn’t matter?
Here is how I am looking at this:
He’s been making an average of $10M per year over the past 11 years.
He is currently in a contact that pays $13M/yr for 5 years.
The press release indicates he is being suspended without pay for 6 months.
The press release does not indicate whether his contract contains a morals clause that covers this kind of infraction, and it is not clear if he has any kind of guarantee which might require NBC to pay out either the reminder of his contract or some portion of it.
I will guess that the “morals clause” elements of his contract did not anticipate this kind of behavior, and that there is some guarantee in his contract.
So, here is a guy who was paid $100M over the last decade, can probably garner $30M more in being bought out of his contract after he is axed at the end of this “review”.
It is impossible to develop sympathy for a person in this position.
Comcast shareholders (owners of NBC Universal) should raise hell about this issue as well as the $600k/yr x 3 years for no output paid to Chelsea Clinton.

There’s no way he told these lies without major support from other people in the company.
What about the other NBC people in the helicopter and at New Orleans hotel, they said nothing?
Really? Were they ordered to keep quiet?
Were his lies really all his own doing or did the company want to dramatize too?
