TACOMA — Police are still looking for the man accused in a violent attack on a lesbian woman.
The 45-year-old woman was attacked, stabbed and dragged by a leash early Sunday morning in what police are treating as a hate crime.
“It’s so horrific that she can’t even fathom how this could happen to anyone let alone herself,” said Gretchen, the victim’s roommate, who spoke on behalf of her friend because the victim is still so scared. “It’s so wrong.”
The woman was attacked around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning as she left her home to look for her dog, which had run off, Tacoma police said Monday. Police said as she walked in the 900 block of East 51st Street, she passed a man and asked if he’d seen a dog run by. He pointed in a direction and she began walking that way.
As she walked into the alley, the man allegedly followed her and knocked her down from behind. The man attacked her, wrote on her in black marker and stabbed her multiple times with a pocketknife, police said. He also took her dog leash and choked her with it, police said.
Detectives say during the attack, the man screamed violent homophobic remarks and hate speech at the victim. He apparently tore away her clothes and wrote homophobic slurs on her body, and ran off when her dog began barking and biting him.

Good point. You can’t write legibly on someone who is struggling even mildly against you.
So we have another preposterous on its face fake hate crime story, and the police are forced to waste their resources pretending to look for suspects so they can appear to care about this offended minority group.

No cop in his right mind would take the risk of not having any assault victim taken to the hospital. He’d be exposing himself, the department, and the city to a huge liability case if he were to just send the victim on her way. Not gonna happen.

Personally. I think it’s a staged event by an enemy of its’. What are the odds that the attacker was there, at 2:45 AM the very same evening her dog goes missing, knows he / she / it / trans / questioning / LBGTQPi is a lesbian, has a magic marker with which to write slurs on its’ body.
That sounds plausible. She’d have to have help to write the words on her, though.
Well, except for the Manson murders, but in that case, the writing was still an attempt to misdirect the police as to the killers’ identity and motivations, so there was still a bit of a “hoax” element to it.

Notice the swastika is backwards. A real racist would probably know how to draw it the right way, so either a non-racist drew it, or it was drawn while looking in the mirror.
The writing with the magic marker is the dead giveaway. Only a homo would think of something like that.

Every detail of the attack sounds preposterous, and you could imagine two dull women concocting it and telling each other it was plausible.
A: “We need a reason for you to be out that late at night when there are no witnesses.”
B: “Well, maybe the dog ran off and I was chasing it.”
A: “Oh, that’s good. You can take the leash with so it looks real.”
B: “Yeah, and maybe the guy decides to put me on the leash and degrade me, like an animal!”
A: “Yeah, a homophobe would totally do something like that!”

So many of these alleged attacks end up being hoaxes, I’m very wary of this one. Not ruling it out, as the presence of knife wounds is (obviously) very serious stuff.
At the same time, you have the woman a few years back who threw acid in her own face as a hoax (Bethany Storro), so staged knife wounds aren’t impossible. Especially if they end up being very superficial/non life-threatening.
That said, if the attack was genuine, the dude needs to be caught and behind bars. Not because it would be a “hate crime”, but because he would be a friggin’ psycho who committed assault with a deadly weapon.
