Hi, ML!
*HUGS*
A few years back I was at a "Special Love" event in Front Royal, VA. They dragged out a karaoke player and "Brown Eyed Girl" came up. I started singing the Sha La Las spontaneously. I was soon given the lyrics and sang the entire song. Another guy was there who sang a bang-up version of "Chantilly Lace."

All good songs prior to now, but there is clearly one true best song. Deep In The Heart of Texas. (George Strait would be a good rendition, but any will do.)

It was exactly 56 years ago tonight that we lost Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens.
Interesting that you should mention “Chantilly Lace”!
BTW, a good friend of mine played sax on two of Van’s albums. Astral Weeks and Hard Nose on the Highway.

Fond memories of Buddy Holly - I can't find any of his music in my files, but many of them remain in my mind. He was just making it big when I started listening to music.
