Well, it may have been a fake gun, but the robber was also wrestling with him, and the intended victim was pushed over backward. So I think he had a right to defend himself even if the robber hadn’t had a fake gun.

Has anyone seen the Quannell X police training report? He has a whole new attitude on police shootings.
In one exercise a guy with a baby in his arms rushes toward him pointing a knife. Quannell shot the guy. He was asked when he saw the knife. Quannell said “To be honest, I never saw the knife. I just knew he pulled something from his pocket. It could have a lolly pop and I’d have still used force. A friend of mine lived in a sketchy neighborhood. When I told her I hoped she was careful and didn't sleep with her windows open she showed me her plastic hand gun. I had thought up to then that she was an intelligent woman.
I have a husband, no telling how many guns in our bedroom, four dogs and a good alarm system. She had nothing but a plastic toy gun. I feel pretty safe.

Just today leaving the office, I walked past a kid that was probably 12 years-old and he was twirling around what was obviously a toy gun, because it had a orange plastic band on the end of the barrel. I told the kid, “hey, be really careful... you don’t want to get shot by a cop!”.
The kid immediately threw the gun down on a snowbank, being kinda a wiseass about it.
