A would-be robber carrying a replica gun was shot and killed by the man he tried to rob in Cobbs Creek Park on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Upper Darby police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said the 67-year-old victim was walking in the park when he heard someone behind him and turned around to find a masked man pointing what he believed was a gun in his face.
The victim grabbed the robbers gun and the two struggled, police said. As the victim felt himself falling back, he pulled out his legally-owned weapon, for which he has a concealed carry permit, and shot the robber one time, Chitwood said.

Make that 5 or 6 then!
To #17: When did you bury your friend?
I liked this exchange: “Why did you shoot him 10 times?” Response: “That’s all the ammo I had!”
Would appear the ‘Glock Out’ game has made it as far as Pennsylvania......
Just today leaving the office, I walked past a kid that was probably 12 years-old and he was twirling around what was obviously a toy gun, because it had a orange plastic band on the end of the barrel. I told the kid, “hey, be really careful... you don’t want to get shot by a cop!”.
The kid immediately threw the gun down on a snowbank, being kinda a wiseass about it.
Only one shot, while falling down, and he still managed to put the perp six feet under.
That’s some good shootin’ pardner!
I do SO love a happy ending.
John Bernard Books: Sometimes it isn’t being fast that counts, or even accurate; but willing. Most men will draw a breath or blink an eye before they shoot. I won’t.
>>>if need be, defend themselves with use of a baseball bat.<<<
Should I assume that they know that “arms” as referenced in the Second Amendment would include that same Baseball Bat?
Never bring either a knife OR a fake gun to a gunfight! /s;)
Memo to thug: Do not take a fake gun to a real gunfight when the victim has live ammo.
The average young man can beat the average 67 year old man to death with just his fists. Deadly force is justified.
