Jeb Bush: We will lose our liberties if we control the border
americanthinker.com ^ | 2/5/15 | Pedro Gonzalez

Jeb Bush made a series of astonishing remarks about immigration Wednesday. Actually, his comments were not so much about immigration as they were about illegal aliens.

First he said he wanted to repopulate Detroit with illegal aliens.

It just seems to me that maybe if you open up our doors in a fair way and unleashed the spirit of peoples' hard work, Detroit could become in really short order, one of the great American cities again," Bush said then. "Now it would look different, it wouldn't be Polish...But it would be just as powerful, just as exciting, just as dynamic. And that's what immigration does and to be fearful of this, it just seems bizarre to me.

Now, if we were talking about legal immigration, I would probably agree. But I think you and I both know whom Jeb was talking about "opening the doors" for. Illegal aliens are already roosting in our inner cities in the millions. Jeb simply wants to accelerate the process. But wait, there's more.

He said, during a discussion with Univision, that it was "ridiculous" to think that DREAMers, children brought to the U.S. by their parents illegally, shouldn't have an "accelerated path" to citizenship.

"I've never felt like the sins of the parents should be ascribed to the children, you know," Bush said in 2013. "If your children always have to pay the price for adults decisions they make — how fair is that? For people who have no country to go back to — which are many of the DREAMers — it's ridiculous to think that there shouldn't be some accelerated path to citizenship."

Indeed.

While certain of his competitors use weasel words to hide the fact that there isn’t a peso’s worth of difference between their position and Bush’s.

Some may say all of this kind of sounds like some kind of organized criminal enterprise. People like the Bill Clinton family, the Al Gore family, the Harry Reid family, the Nancy Pelosi family, the Obama family, the Barbara Boxer family and many others would disagree. Why? Because they are doing the same thing and most everyone else in Washington is after the same golden ring — money.

That is the point of NOT allowing these moronic insiders to simply move up and up and up into the Presidency!

Everyone complains that Cain and Carson and Palin don't have enough or any real political experience. GOOD! Because those that DO have experience have been, and will continue to, SCREW THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!

Ladybird Johnson purchased thousands of acres of land in Texas, right in the middle of the Dallas/Fort Worth cities, crossing multiple city and county lines. Most people wouldn't have bought such a package, because it would be difficult to satisfy all the different controlling authorities (two counties and five different cities) to actually build anything on all that land.

WHAM! Two years later, basically the Federal Government told Dallas and Fort Worth that they were too close together to support two separate, large, national airports, so they would have to compromise and build one big one in the middle. And where would be the best place to build a huge, nationally/locally funded airport? Well, what do you know, the land which Ladybird had recently purchased was deemed the best place! Coincidence?!?!

He knows he will not receive Conservative support and is reaching out to liberals who he knows will not support him either. This is his contribution to the democrats effort to retain control of the WH.

A good example of what Bush is talking about when he says "losing our freedoms and liberties" is Real ID. Real ID is actually a national ID(show me your papers). These ID may be issued by the states but they have to be compliant with the federal standards

They have to have Real ID before they can reform and expand the guest worker programs, which is one of the main parts of Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

I don't mean to discourage anyone but if you think you stopped immigration reform you are wrong. Immigration reform was delayed because they ran into problems with the roll-out of Real ID.

The states are divided into three groups: those that already implemented real ID, those that have been granted an extension, but are moving to implement, and those that say they won't implement Real ID.

As it stands now, come Jan 1, 2016, you will need a Real ID to board a plane.

I always thought his daddy and brother were for a united North America, not necessarily for a USA.

You know I really wouldn't care IF we get Mexico as a state in the US. But we also get the land and oil that comes with it. And I don't know HOW we'd manage to get rid of the cartels.

I was at my son’s confirmation class. We go to an ELCA church (yes, I know).

Lady training to be a pastor was in Detroit this last week during the blizzard.

She said that the Lutherans are sending in missionaries to do what essentially comes down to free urban development work for Detroit.

The idea is to use volunteers to knock down houses, haul off the rubble, and convert the land back to either farmland or lots.

As it is, there are packs of coyotes, deer, raccoon, skunk, and other wildlife moving back into the inner city limits of Detroit.

The gay thing hit the ELCA pretty hard. They are making up for it with money from Uncle Sugar for this kind of stuff and the sub-rosa muslim resettlement plan in the US. Muslims are being taken in and settled in cities all over the US.

And to cross the border by land even to Canada, I believe. RealID includes the current U.S. passport, which I use.

I cannot vote for this man.

I can't either. He seems to be a bit demented lately.

You can currently enter Canada without a passport... but you cannot reenter the US from Canada legally without one- the exception is if you are an illegal alien crossing the southern border. Absurd reality. I’ve applied for permits to enter Canada the last three years in a row at monument marker # 78. That is where the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail terminus is, and the location is not staffed by either US or Canadian border security agents. The trail continues on for 8 miles into Canada, leading to Manning Provincial Park. Because the crossing point is not staffed, US law prohibits reentry at this point on our northern border.

Very disjointed.

It’s almost as though the remarks were intended to reveal how ridiculous it is for a country to HAVE open borders. If that’s it, it’s working.

"You can currently enter Canada without a passport...but you cannot renter the US from Canada."

That's what I ran into in 2000. Throughout my life I made a number of fishing trips to Canada and all you needed going both ways was a drivers license. The last previous trip was 1985 and no passport was needed. I had been into Mexico in the mid nineties with out.

In 2000, the gal at the airport asked me if I had a passport, which I didn't. She told me I could probably talk my way into Canada but I would need one to return. In lieu of that I went home and got the birth certificate and caught the last flight out.

No problem getting in to Canada and on the return the US border inspection station was closed, so I didn't need anything.

This is the one time I agree with Jessie Jackson, “America! Stay out of the Bushes!” We need to pass and continue looking.

Jeb could be elected in Mexico... maybe he should move there and run for office... Or he could just do the obvious and become a democrat.

Jeb’s solution to the problem of illegal immigration is to legalize every current illegal, and then to open the borders to the point where no entry into the country is illegal. This guy should sign up to be Hillary’s running mate.

I always thought his daddy and brother were for a united North America, not necessarily for a USA.

Vincente Fox basically demanded that George W. open up the border, and Bush did exactly that. A surplus population numbering millions of illiterate indigents were once Mexico's problem, now they're ours.

Only one of these two Presidents was looking out for his nation's interests in doing so. Take a guess which of the two it was.

So basically he’s saying that the native-born Americans that currently populate Detroit are not capable?

Is that what he’s saying?
