Your child is far more likely to be harmed by the disease than from the vaccine.

I agree that Obama and the Democratic party has blood on its hands in many ways related to immigration, including through the introduction/ re-introduction of several diseases into our country. Disease control is but one of many reasons we should effectively control our borders. On a stand-alone basis, the illegal immigration/ open border policies of Obama clearly deserve impeachment. Viewed in the totality of his record on issues from border control, foreign policy, national security, military operations, energy policy and fiscal policy, it is just one more act of betrayal to his country that amounts to serial treason . . . and there is but one just punishment for that.
However, if the proper structure is set up for quality control and separation of the administration of vaccine production and a vaccination program out of the hands of the federal government, I support law compelling vaccinations.
I have known people who contracted polio. It was a devastating disease. However, I no longer trust the well-being of the citizens to the Federal government. Repeatedly, they have proven themselves unworthy of that trust.

And you're also saying that she would compromise her journalistic professionalism to shill for drug companies. That's silly. Read the latest book about Roger Ailes. You'll see that he doesn't put up with that. Neither would she.

“Gravity” is a conspiracy cooked up by Big Elevator to force people to buy their product.
I think some of the reason may have been that the government was working to fight the spread of disease and our parents who lived through the depression and couldn't always afford good health care readily jumped on the chance for free vaccinations.
The PC debate of choice and personal preferences simply didn't exist then as it does now with every little issue.
Another problem today is the "end justifies the means" strategy that drives liberals to conduct social witch hunts on any issue they come up with. Somewhere along the line the idea that vaccines cause autism pushed by Angelina Jolie seems to have gained a following and anyone who disagrees is a denier; just like with global warming.
We can go back through history and find plenty of liars who became rich and famous as they created a false narrative that took hold with the liberal left and then the lapdog media. Upton Sinclair, Rachel Carson, Paul Erlich and Al Gore come to mind.

Tell us, oh enlightened one, your qualifications to speak on this issue. If you are not an ignorant journalist, then what? A medical doctor? An infectious disease researcher? Or, something else.
Some of us are old enough to remember when infectious diseases killed many Americans, mostly innocent children. Medical science, largely vaccinations, practically eliminated the threat of deadly infectious disease from our country, but now it’s back. How are we going to deal with that very disturbing fact?

My kid was harmed by a vaccine. I guess I should just tell her to suck it up and keep pumping them into her so I won’t be “anti-science” or some such nonsense?
How bout the 21-day cure for herpes 1 & 2, being suppressed because “big pharma” can’t make money on it? They make millions with drugs that reduce the symptoms, so who wants a cure?
There appear to be 2 parallel arguments on this thread:
1. Vaccines are oppressive and represent overreach by the government. I don’t agree with this. Without question, the anti-vaccination movement creates more risk (morbidity and mortality) for the population than the vaccination proponents ever will. But, I’m a physician (who gains nothing from promoting vaccination) and perhaps I drank the Kool-Aid a long time ago.
2. Illegals created the current measles outbreak. That may be true, but doesn’t that support the argument that vaccination — not occurring enough in the country from which the illegals derive — would be advisable for most people? Are those who support fewer vaccinations (or, at least, the choice to not vaccinate) advocating for a society with pediatric morbidity and mortality more in line with that of a third world country?
It should be noted that the government in some states is not “forcing vaccination” on children. Only children who attend public schools. Knowing what I know from my medical education I would prefer such a policy in place at the schools to which I send my children (who all, BTW, are vaccinated).
This anti-vaccination uproar is nothing but crazy talk. The people spreading these diseases come from countries that either don't have vaccination requirements, or have poorly enforced vaccination regimes. I want my culture to be preserved, which is one of the reasons I oppose the forced/encouraged and illegal importation of people who don't share it.
That includes the importation of unskilled peasants who don't know the meaning and value of science.
Being a TV host and a lawyer does not make you a medical expert.
There are many doctors and health professionals out there who increasingly question vaccines.
