A year out from the Iowa caucuses, potential presidential candidate and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has taken the lead among Republicans, an Iowa Poll published Saturday indicates. With 15 percent support, Walker leads a number of other potential candidates for the Republican ticket, including Rand Paul, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Jeb Bush, the Des Moines Register reported.
Walker is the No. 2 candidate among potential caucus attendees who support an establishment candidate as well as those who prefer one who is anti-establishment, the Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa poll indicated.
Following close behind, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky came in with 14 percent. And 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney, who bowed out of the race before the poll was released, held 13 percent. "After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, Ive decided it is best to give other leaders in the party the opportunity to become our next nominee," Romney said Friday.
Without Romney in the race, the candidates below him picked up a few more points, including Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and Fox News host, who picked up 3 percent.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie also picked up a couple of points, bringing him to a tie with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
While Walker is still behind at the national level, the presidential hopeful has been making gains, holding 11 percent, according to Public Policy Polling. Its the first time hes registered at double digits, the firm said.

Alright. This is now officially a complete waste of good bandwidth.
You like Scott Walker? Good for you. Continue supporting him, but don't get your panties in a bunch when others here reject him.
I don’t wear panties, neither does Walker, as history attests.
No need to get defensive over a figure of speech. Or did you really take that literally?
Anyhow, we're done, so I'm out.
You said it.
The machines are well into play just because they are not readily seen nor reported of.....Again...Cruz knows what he needs to do and up against.
Good post...
No doubt in my mind that Cruz is seeking God’s will as he walks this difficult walk.....if Cruz is to be our Pres. God will see that He gets over the hurdles and around that which would prevent him. Regardless of how the media plays it...I do not underestimate God moving the people Cruz will need as well as the funding.
Too many forget that God often shows himself at the last minute in the affairs of men....our faith is often tested right up to that last moment when it might seem all is lost.
I just don’t think Cruz will rise in the standard way we see....he’s in the game but plays his hand differently.
It’s not so much giving up but the realization that the American people are not suited for self-government.
A good point, no doubt, but what if God is tired of fooling with the uninformed American people who never seem to get anything right for very long.
...”what if God is tired of fooling with the uninformed American people who never seem to get anything right for very long”,,,,,
I tend to think this nation has already crossed the threshold ,of the point of no return, because the population makeup of our nation does not share the values and moral foundations it takes to discern what is right or wrong. Which is why if Cruz runs and wins it will surely be the hand of God that accomplishes it.
It is to us as Christians His words are....”If..” MY PEOPLE” will humble themselves and pray..and turn from their wicked ways then....etc.”.... But we have not even come to that first step, rather stepped backward.
