NEW ORLEANS

There is no freedom in addiction. Proud to be called a Nazi by those who pimp death and addiction.
Got the worst flu of my life in ‘73. All I wanted to do was die. When I started feeling better after about 5-6 days I thought, “Wow. I haven’t had a cigarette in all this time.” And have never wanted one again.
At least that flu was good for something.
its beed decades sonce smoking was okay in either restaurants or bars in my neck of the woods.
As a matter of fact smoking in public is often met with great dismay by the ever so PURE True Believer.
The collectivists,,,,run the place
Damn fine people. It still blows my mind what they were able to do all those years, every Friday night in front of Walter Reed, no matter what, they had a voice out there. I think it was something like 350+ straight Friday nights they managed to do it, right up until they closed it down, I think.
Little steps is how they do it.
The whole ‘boiling frog’ technique. All the while they do these ‘public service’ ‘education’ programs to try to make anyone who objects be viewed as a selfish fool. Thank God some are starting to see through this like is happening with the ‘man-made’ global-warming/cooling/climate change racket.
would it be politically possible,
for the state legislature to pass
a law, that the city of New Orleans
does not exist anymore?
This is going to kill their tourist industry.
And if the butts DO kill me, it's MY CHOICE.
Doubt it. Study after study show that restaurant attendance increases after smoking bans.
It’s math. 80% of people don’t smoke.
Kill it dead. Every bar district in the country that has implemented this can barely keep the doors open.
So what. These are BARS and they are in NEW ORLEANS. People go to Bourbon street to drink and smoke cigars and listen to Jazz.
The fact that you support these nanny state laws tells me you are a far cry from a Liberty loving Freeper.
“anti-smoking NAZIs “
Such an apt phrase since the greatest enemy to socialists is the success of the limited government created in the US Constitution- written by infamous tobacco fiends.
Evidently, tobacco has advanced civilization as much as alcohol did.
When they came for the Jews I said nothing for I was not a Jew. When they came for the Catholics I said nothing for I was not a Catholic. When they came for me there was no one left to speak....
Some day one of your vices will be the new cause.
How we have fallen... and so quickly at that.
My brother and friends from back east in NJ all lived in Caliphornia for a time. When I visited, they had recently rolled out this no smoking in bars thing... and the way they dealt with it was to put Altoids tins out on the bar so if the PoPo showed up you snuffed out your cig and closed up the tin.
The smoking ban in NJ bars ended my time going out to my favorite bar and grill...
Im an ex smoker...by choice..and I hate to think of future kids not being allowed to experience smoke filled saloons, pool halls, gambling dens, whore houses etc..........

You would think the as whole would be more concerned about all of the shooting of tourists.
They won’t even hire enough cops, are asking retired ones to VOLUNTEER to work Mardi Gras
For free.
You comment to a person who pimps anti Freedom and Liberty. Should they not like the rules I put in place on my property they have the choice not to come through the door. The poster most likely agreed with forcing the baker to make a wedding cake for the homosexuals. Freedom is not forcing someone to cater to your personal wishes, it’s the choice not to do business with that establishment.
The Feds receive 7 to 8 billion a year in taxes from tobacco, states receive 16 to 18 billion. Many municipalities impose cigarette taxes at the local level. The revenue goes into the localities general funds for various local projects, such as road maintenance and school renovations.
Time for the anti’s to start paying their share of these expenses instead of pissing and moaning about those that are. Before they say why should I, “I don’t smoke” let me remind them that I haven’t had a child in school in public school for the last 28 years but I still get hit with a school tax. Until they are willing to stand up their voice means nothing more than a small child’s bitching because momma won’t let them have a cookie.
Good for you; when I go through months without them, I’m pleasantly surprised by how much money I still have at the end of each day. I motivate myself with determination to starve the beast (the state) of tax revenue...
Incredible how quickly that whole issue came about; here in NJ we briefly enjoyed a period of prosperity in our bars along the Hudson River (as NYC people came over to smoke with their drinks), and then it was gone.
