MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - "American Sniper" is tops at the box office but don't expect to see former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura lining up at a theater for it.
Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit last year against the estate of the late Chris Kyle, the SEAL protagonist of the movie, which has sparked debate over whether snipers should be considered heroes. Ventura said Wednesday he won't see the film partly because Kyle is no hero to him.

Jessie, Mr. Comstock called...he wants to talk to you.
Say good night pos.
It gets very complicated when you try to argue on a forum with people defending Ventura, and, who know their stuff.
There are common sense elements, but there are also muddied waters arguments and technical arguments.
For instance NAVYSEALS.com lists him as SEAL.
Sue a widow and the wrath of hell will fall on you bald head.
Ventura is a huge POS.
He disparaged W, the Iraq war, and said some SEALs should die there.
The press was treating him like a god.
The first time I really watched him, he was on "This Week" with David Brinkley.
He shows up wearing a "SEAL" t-shirt. Fine, he was a SEAL, but wear a suit for goodness sake on the show. Then he is asked about the Minnesota budget, and instead of a logical answer, he says all his critics have "diarrhea of the mouth." A totally gross and uncalled for sentence to utter on a Sunday show.
On another occasion, he went off the "religious right" and started to criticize Christians for simply believing in what God teaches. That's when I said I was done with this clown.
“Glenn read from CNN:
Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura filed a lawsuit last year accusing Kyle of defaming him in the book by exaggerating his description of a fight between the two at the wake for SEAL Mikey Monsoor, who was killed in Iraq in 2006.
The book quoted Ventura, also a Navy veteran, as saying he hates America and telling Kyle, who was mourning the death of a SEAL teammate, You deserve to lose a few. Kyle described punching Ventura out at the Coronado, California, bar.
In the suit, Ventura denied making the statements in the book, contending that the entire story about a confrontation with and physical assault and battery of Governor Ventura was false and defamatory.
At his deposition last November, Kyle continued to insist his book accurately described his clash with Ventura.
He was complaining about the war, that we shouldnt be there, Kyle testified. Complaining about Bush, that, you know, Bush was a war criminal. How we were killing innocent men and women and children overseas.
Kyle acknowledged in his deposition saying that he hated Ventura with a passion.

It was a wake for Mikey Mansoor.
Regardless of the lawsuit outcome, I guarantee that Chris Kyle leveled this utter sh*thead Ventura. He is a pig.
The positioning of his feet is quite feminine.
Al Franken, not Tom Franken. Not that it makes any difference. Minnesota DFL voters & college kids & independents are stupid enough to vote in a buffoon like Ventura as MN governor, then are stupid enough to vote for douche bag like Al Franken, not just once but now TWICE! And voted to elect “Crazy Eyes” Mark Dayton also as a 2 term governor. The unions, iron range, Duluth, Mpls/St Paul have this state locked in a socialist satanic strangle hold. This state is a DFL/socialist/union cesspool!
Ah, the has-been, never-was heard from again. Apparently proud to be still trying to rob Kyle’s widow and children of their future.
Yeah, Mike is a character. But sometimes he’s fun to listen to.
If he is willing to meet me at McP's I will by the first round. I will then buy the house afte they get through with him.
” going on with an alias and voice disguiser is a pretty good marketing gimmick. “
Yup! That’s just what it was. Pretty funny though!
First of all this proves to me that Kyle did knock Ventura on his ass. Second, I hope the last thing Ventura ever sees is a sniper looking at him.
I’ve seen him being interviewed where he said he served in Viet Nam.
About six months after he was elected, something short circuited in Jesse's brain. He decided to support the light rail boondoggle through St. Paul and then threatened to kill a reporter for the Star Tribune newspaper.
It was totally weird...
I recall him on a half hour channel 400 on Dish show, posing as a snake eater in the VN jungle. He’s a liar...
Michael Moore made an ass out of himself and Alec Baldwin and Jesse had to make damn sure that they weren’t “out-assed”.
Jesse, why not tell us about wrestling and shut up about important things.
