The upcoming six-part miniseries, Sons of Liberty, follows a defiant and radical group of young men Sam Adams (Ben Barnes), John Adams (Henry Thomas), Paul Revere (Michael Raymond-James), John Hancock (Rafe Spall) and Joseph Warren (Ryan Eggold) as they band together in secrecy to change the course of history and make America a nation.Calling themselves the Sons of Liberty, they light the spark that ignited a revolution. Though their names have become American legend, this group of young rebels didnt start off as noble patriots in powdered wigs. They were a new American generation of young men from varied backgrounds, struggling to find purpose in their lives. They were looking for equality, but they found something greater: Independence.
Sons of Liberty premieres its three night event on January 25th at 9pm on History Channel.

Hadn’t heard of it, but you’re correct. Drama is one thing, but some of these shows are just including things that don’t need to be.
A spy show, set in the 1700s doesn’t need to have a female coming over to a married man’s home with the threat of being caught in the act of sex on the dining table as some “essential” value to the story line...I was just sitting there waiting for the inevitable...the British officer returning. STUPID!
I think the producers think that if they don’t include sex, then the show will fail...
Here’s something writers/producers, try some quality writing and plot development...or is that beyond your capabilities?
Perhaps it was the 1st and 2nd Florida expeditions, starting out from Savanna Georgia trying to rout the Florida loyalists? Look up Revolutionary Florida expeditions.
Thanks.
They really didn’t add the amorous scenes. The book “Outlander,” and the series of books that followed included these scenes. I actually paid for STARZ to get the “Outlander,” series. Wonderfully produced. Very true to story line.
After the fifth book you really do have to suspend reality. How could this couple and their family have been involved in so many important historical events. But, it’s a kick.
Now adding these types of scenes to “Turn,” insulted me. If supposedly fact based, I haven’t read anything that supports them up.
LOL! I am guessing you haven’t read the books?
Cheers
for anyone who doesn’t use cable - I turned my off 7 years ago, refuse to pay that kind of money when I can get everything I watch free online - here’s the link.
I have a cable from my PC to the big screen in the living room - and watch on TV -

As soon as I clicked the link you provided my anti-virus jumped into action. FWIW.
What? Miss the Pro Bowl? Just kidding...
Sons of Liberty is two hours long... so they can flesh out our founding fathers without relying on scene gimmicks that compress what you need to know in a one-minute segmnent that you may have missed going to the restroom. :)
My understanding is that it will show these young heroes quaffing a lot of beer or ale, which is ok with me. I bet they loved their get togethers at the taverns to discuss plans.
Off to a good start, pillaging the Governor’s house.
Yes! I wonder how accurate this is? Did this riot actually happen?
**My understanding is that it will show these young heroes quaffing a lot of beer or ale, which is ok with me.**
Can’t hold that against them. I’ve quaffed a bit of ale myself.
No idea.
Lookin good so far.
I’m liking it. Certainly will inspire me to do some reading.
I have Dr Walter Edgar’s “South Carolina, A History.” On my 20th or so viewing of “The Patriot” I read the chapter on SC’s participation in the Revolution. It followed very nicely. Lot of interpretation and embellishment, but the book was a very nice companion.
Not 100% accurate?
It’s generally lotsa bullshit
Ragnars own existence is iffy
Shield maidens were mythic figures like Amazons or Valkyries not real
I’ gave up on it
Have they brought in black Vikings yet
Just more deconstruction revisionist pap
Which is all anyone born post 1970 knows
Unless they are thirsty
It’s funny.....you see the post episode interviews with writers and you see. Why
Yep a bunch of our young healthy young men taking on the the kings men!
