merican Sniper has a problem. It's a movie about a black-and-white distinction between good and evil, but it is set almost entirely in the Iraq War, which can only be honestly portrayed in shades of gray.
Faced with a choice between altering its narrative to account for that gray versus altering the facts of history, the film chose the latter. It adopted an "honesty shmonesty" approach to the war: in its retelling, Iraq was a fight of Good Americans against Bad Terrorists, led by Chris Kyle, the Good-est American of them all.

Beeyatch
It’s Vox. ‘nuff said.
Translation: All these sheeple seeing this movie goofs up our messaging for 2016 and beyond.
Translation: When we can’t attack the substance of an argument, we can always fall back on the moral equivalency defense and claim that the opponent has “oversimplified” the reality. Clint Eastwood didn’t buy our anti-American narrative so he’s a moron and a simpleton who can’t see and appreciate the subtleties of this subject. By extension, anyone who enjoys this movie is also a drooling rube who doesn’t know his Chablis from his Chardonnay.
“which can only be honestly portrayed in shades of gray”
yeah, right. and how many OTHER movies “portray” ANYTHING in “shades of gray”? BTW, do you think Amanada, if given the money and the task, would make a nuanced movie about the Iraqi war presenting all sides equally? Yeah, that’s what i thought. her real objection is that the movie presents a point of view she disagrees with.
and speaking of different view points, i notice vox allows no dissent since commenting isn’t available, which means vox wants to keep its propaganda pure.
This review would be more accurate if it was about the movie “Selma”.
Liberals love shades of gray.
It lets them weasel out of responsibility for everything.
It is why President Bush, with all his faults that are well established, understood that to do the right thing, you had to boil away shades of gray and take action.
It is called war.
Amanda Taub, has her butt puckered six ways to Sunday over a movie because it portrays the world differently than she wants it to be: sunshine and lollipops all the time except for the people she hates -us.
The Leftist has a history of anti-Christian rants.

Taking the web site even further down the path of useless, pretentious collection of hackery than it already is and that’s quite far Vox.com has tweeted (HT Twitchy) that “Our obsession with the Ottawa shooter’s religion reveals more about us than about him.” It must be a shock to their system to learn that a lot of “us” would rather not be cut down by a member of the alleged “Religion of Peace.”
Why must movies and sports be held to an absolute lines of integrity, while the police, the courts, politicians and the press are held to no standards at all?
I think Amanda would be more comfortable shouting “Hands up! Don’t shoot!” while burning down a 7-Eleven in honor of Saint Swisher Sweets.
They pulled the same stuff with blackhawk down. We didn’t view the events from the other side. Sigh
Another “SJW”. Aren’t they all, these days.
So a movie can be either “black and white” or “shades of gray.”
This in itself is black and white thinking.
Liberals never get this.
the reporter is a shmuck
If we got lucky, it would be amusing to hear of her having her car stolen by one of the “oppressed”, as happened to another SJW.
“[T]his movie feeds the narrative that the civilized world is at war with Muslims, that the only solution is to respond with crushing violence, and that people who refuse to believe that are naïfs sheep, rather who are dangerously undermining America’s security.”
And? So? That’s the correct “narrative.”
