RUSH: The primary criticism of American Sniper ran in the New Republic, and it's what's feeding all the other criticism. The criticism in the New Republic is written by a guy named... What's his name? Dennis Jett. He admits he's not even seen it. He hasn't even seen it. The criticism of American Sniper is that Clint Eastwood has written and directed a movie that's celebrating a murderer -- a racist, bigoted murderer -- Chris Kyle who murders innocent Iraqi brown people.

We in America, by going to see this movie, are celebrating barbarism. We are celebrating murder. We are celebrating a sociopath. How dare Eastwood do this and how dare we fall for it! That chorus is being joined by more and more people, particularly in Hollywood and on the left. After all, folks, it's about a redneck from Texas who is better using a gun than anybody ever has been. What is there for Hollywood to like about that?
It's everything Hollywood hates: Rednecks, Texas, guns. Add to it war, Iraq? "Wrong, immoral, because of Bush. What's the guy doing? Killing innocent Iraqis, a murderer! No wonder America is hated in the world. This movie demonstrates why." That's what they're doing to American Sniper, and they're just getting started.
Debbie is a known fraud but earlier today on FR, a couple of the Freeper Left were going around the AS/Kyle threads calling Kyle a liar over the Ventura thing.
I guess the SEALS there were there were liars too.
Adults don’t go to movies in any significant numbers anymore. If they did then better films would be made.
I learned to shoot when I was fifteen at my local PAL club. I learned gun safety and how to shoot a .22 rifle. I’m fifty-eight so that gives you an idea of how long ago it was. And, no, I haven’t shot anybody.
Those are taken from 3 scenes that total about 10 minutes in the whole movie. And there’s a lot of “stuff” in those scenes they cut out in the previews (like the fact that he’s in the middle of firefights and could die any second in 2 of them). Really it’s a good movie. Up there with Sands.
“Everything Hollywood Hates”...........
Tells me that this is a great movie since the libs hate it soooooo much. When fat behind Michael Moore shoots his mouth off against the movie, I cannot help but believe its GREAT
Thanks
Thanks
I don’t believe I have shot anybody either. My Mom bought me a .22 signature Marlin when I was 13.
I have it to this day and it is very close to the best Christmas present ever.
My 10 speed at 10 and my Tyco Chattanooga Choo-Choo at 9 are on the list.
I’ve decided they all get #1.
OR .. if they made better films, THEN adults would go. Saw Captain Phillips, and went to see The Imitation Game. The preview I saw of the latter seemed to emphasize the code breaking aspect, but there was that other issue that seems to be given as much emphasis as the enigma machine.
They’ll make the NoKos look like pikers, these American Leftists.
bump
There are good films. People don’t seek them out. Frankly it’s much easier these days to watch it at home under more comfortable surroundings.
If the Liberals don’t like real people that are protecting their right to complain about how it is done, maybe they should make a movie about what they consider to be a hero to them, an abortion doctor. They can pick a name of a doctor that has performed thousands of abortion and say that this doc is a hero protecting womens’ reproduction rights. Make a movie about that or just shut up.
The movie is really good. You won’t be disappointed. It was much better than I expected it to be.
I cried at the end. Couldn’t help it. Godspeed
Chris Kyle and the rest of the troopers.
That is so little of the movie that you're doing yourself a disservice by not seeing it.
When Transformers II came out, the movie made some jibes against Obama. Coincidentally, reviewers panned it. Roger Ebert gave it one star. Etc, etc. The movie was loved by audiences (including me) and went on to make $402,111,870 in North America and $836,303,693 worldwide
Thanks
The highest grossing film of last year was ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’.
Often when my husband and I see movie trailers on T.V. ,we look at each other in disbelief. The garbage Hollywood produces is mind boggling. We may go and see ,at most, one movie a year and most of the time I go just to see a guy flick to appease him. This was one movie I was anxious to see and it didn’t disappoint for a minute. Loved the audience reaction at the end.... total silence with sniffles thrown in.
