RUSH: The primary criticism of American Sniper ran in the New Republic, and it's what's feeding all the other criticism. The criticism in the New Republic is written by a guy named... What's his name? Dennis Jett. He admits he's not even seen it. He hasn't even seen it. The criticism of American Sniper is that Clint Eastwood has written and directed a movie that's celebrating a murderer -- a racist, bigoted murderer -- Chris Kyle who murders innocent Iraqi brown people.

We in America, by going to see this movie, are celebrating barbarism. We are celebrating murder. We are celebrating a sociopath. How dare Eastwood do this and how dare we fall for it! That chorus is being joined by more and more people, particularly in Hollywood and on the left. After all, folks, it's about a redneck from Texas who is better using a gun than anybody ever has been. What is there for Hollywood to like about that?
It's everything Hollywood hates: Rednecks, Texas, guns. Add to it war, Iraq? "Wrong, immoral, because of Bush. What's the guy doing? Killing innocent Iraqis, a murderer! No wonder America is hated in the world. This movie demonstrates why." That's what they're doing to American Sniper, and they're just getting started.
Exhibit A of why we’ll win a new civil war.
Seems to me that I grew up watching shows like The Rifleman at an early age, and I still haven’t shot anybody yet.
Or even had an accidental discharge.
My first Boy Scout merit badge was marksmanship.
Tell me again how guns, and using them in service of our country is bad, again?
I strongly recommend this movie.
The crying and calling each “baby” over and over in the preview they show endlessly on TV made me say, “No thanks”, to American Sniper. I’ll stick with The Sands Of Iwo Jima for my war movie.
I dunno sometimes. For every Kyle, there are 10,000 or more morons who already proved they are ready, willing and able to compromise the basics of freedom and liberty on the right. The very people the founders warned against who would deserve neither freedom nor liberty.
Hollywood types thoroughly enjoy casting themselves as heroes and heroines, engaging in incredible (and impossible) feats of daring-do, the filming of which invariably involves stunt doubles if the slightest risk to the star is involved. When confronted with real heroes who actually risked all to defend their freedom and liberty they get really steamed.
And they’re just getting started.
And their God Obama is leading the way must keep the thumb screws on them until logic seeps in.
And fat Ted Kennedy’s car has killed more than any of my guns ever have or will.
I have not watched the movie, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to. I don’t think I’d be able to handle it, seriously, I know that sounds crazy but the promos even tear me up. Everyone I have talked to that has went to see it said that it had a profound impact on them. Everyone sat quietly at the end, watched all of the credits and then were extremely polite and subdued upon leaving the theater.
Chris Kyle is not just an American Sniper, he’s one of thousands of American Heros from our military. RIP
I intend to see it this weekend. I’ve been reading stories of people being turned away because it is selling out so often.
According to liberals, the only good guns are the ones used to protect them.
Hollywood will take the coin from the movie, but they’ll never the movie any awards!
Debbie Schlussel called this film left wing propaganda! There’s always someone I guess...
It received six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor.
How many did they win?
The 87th Academy Awards is scheduled for February 22.
Is it because you always throw Pa's gun to him and let him shoot them?
I wish Hollywood would just go bankrupt!
They make movies we don’t want to see and on the rare occasion when something Americans do want comes out, it’s shunned by the elites, all the while they call us homophobes, racist, gun loving war mongers that should do as they tell us in spite of how they live.
Creativity is gone in Hollywood. They are so afraid of political correctness that the writer, directors, and producers won’t touch anything that might actually be a fresh idea....unless of course it’s perverse in some way, you know, loaded with homosexual proclivities for instance! Then it’s call art but if a movie like American Sniper comes out....nope can’t have none of it.
