Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, reiterated his pitch on Sunday that if Republicans nominate a moderate candidate to be their presidential nominee in 2016, they’ll lose the White House to the Democrats again.
He called GOP candidates like 2012 nominee Mitt Romney, Sen. John McCain, the party’s 2008 nominee and 1996 nominee and former Sen. Bob Dole “good, honorable, and decent men” — but not what the GOP needs in 2016.
If we nominate a candidate in that mold, the same people who stayed home in 2008 and 2012 will stay home in 2016

Conservatives need to decide on one candidate early.
Can you imagine that the GOPe wants major network Anchors to be questioners again instead of Levin, Rush, Laura and Sean?
Conservatives need to run their own debates with conservative hosts asking the questions.
There are 9 listed moderate to very conservatives listed above vs. 4 GOPe Tea Party hating Rinos. That means our vote is split better that 2-1, and assuming Christie drops out its 3-1.
We need a conservative caucus convention to select one person so we get more than 30% in every primary and can elect a conservative.
On Freerepublic Palin would lead, and Cruz would be next.
I like Walker, but he has no name recognition.
We must break the party rule of GOPe, this means we need to outsmart them. In a debate Cruz could do really well but only if there isnt a dozen people on the stage making it impossible for Ted to beat the crap out of Mitt, Jeb and Huck.
He has them frightened out of their oligarchical minds.
And somebody get FOX news to stop calling liberals like Romney and Bush “moderates”
I would like to see Sarah Palin ask the questions.
Those are my choices. It would take a miracle for me to vote for anyone else. So, my deciding has been done good and early.
put me on the list! It’s Cruz control or impending impact!
Cruz - Martinez - 2016
stop calling liberals like Romney and Bush moderates

In 2012 Willard said he was a “moderate progressive”
I agree with everything you say, and even suggested myself many times that we need a conservative convention to pick our candidate before the primaries. However, it’s too late for most of that in this election cycle. This should have been organized immediately after the 2014 election when we saw what a travesty that primary was.
Still, I think that things are looking good this time around, because Cruz is such a dynamic personality, he is solidifying support on his own. Palin is great, but I think there is only a snowball’s chance that she would run, and I doubt she could get the nomination if she did.
Most of the other conservatives have significant drawbacks, either political or ideological. Carson, for example, has no political experience, so he is a non-starter in a Presidential race. West only held a House seat, and he couldn’t hang on to that. Santorum, well, frankly he looks like a “nerd” and Americans don’t elect those types to the Presidency. Walker is pretty solid, but I don’t think many conservatives would pick him over Cruz, simply because Cruz seems more bold and outspoken.
This apparently has been a problem since the founding. My current reading list is now focused on "Madison and Jefferson", and I'm around 1792. They went thru this patriotic war, with patriots like Paine (ie, GOPtp)... yearning for freedom from George-III, fought, died... and then persevered thru Confederation squabbles, Shays rebellion... and then elected Congresscritters, begetting Senators and President and cabinet... only to be "sold out" to the monied interests of the Northeast (ie, like the GOPe) and guys like Hamilton.
If she wants the job, of course.
The GOP Ruling Class would prefer that a Democrat “wins” any and all seats, rather than a single Conservative take that office.
We are arrived at single party rule in this country.
The majority will continue to lie to themselves and pretend the truth is not what is become self-evident.
We must break the party rule of GOPe...
In my view it can be done despite rich guys and the fickle Chamber of Whores (who give to both parties) having sway.
We each only get one vote, and our strength is seen in the Mid Terms when conservative kick butt.
I may not be 100% on this but the last time conservatives got 2/3 of the primary votes, we just didn’t back one person like the Gope backed Mitt. We have the votes and all the money can’t change that.
We have some Conservative money like Kock brothers, but we don’t need as much money if we can get the Paul’s to sit this one out. The Pauls rule at Cpac, and in caucus state
but they are opposed by both sides of GOP and don’t have a chance until they get off the fence and stop backing Mitch.
I just want a guy who won’t tack to the direction the the political winds, but has core beliefs that inspire confidence he won’t change if elected. That is Cruz.
Time for Perry to turn his money over to his fellow Texan
and get Texas behind their homegrown most valuable person.
Cruz can pick Jeb apart on amnesty and common core, and Mitt on amnesty and Obamacare. How the Gope can rerun Mitt and hope the base will go to the polls that they didn’t go to last time is puzzling.
And Jeb, go to the Gym and lose a quarter ton, and stop acting like a liberal.
United we win on the votes, now its time to get these Egotists to realize they are hurting conservatism by staying in when they don’t have a chance.
I wish Ted Cruz jumps in and does so as early as possible since currently the RINOs are hogging the limelight and lining up the cash.
That is not necessarily a negative at this point.
Sheldon Adelson backed Nute, maybe the fact that Cruz is an outspoken Israel supporter will get him a few patrons who could back Ted up with some money.
Time to break the GOP losing the White House with Rinos.
Also, Ted has to get some of those conservative Governors to endorse him.
