LOS ANGELES (AP) Responding for the first time to the firestorm of criticism over the lack of diversity in this year's Oscar nominations, film academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs says the all-white acting slate inspires her to accelerate the academy's push to be more inclusive. She also hopes the film industry as a whole will continue to strive for greater diversity.
The first black president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences spoke out Friday night in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press about the Oscar nominations and the widespread criticism that followed.

Morgan Freeman gets it half way right on economics and at the 1:00 mark blows Don Lemon right off his seat with the truth about race in Hollywood.

3...2...1... The Academy would like to invite Al Sharpton as a permanent member of the board. Along with Sony Pictures Al will call all the shots in Hollywood in no time. Couldn’t happen to a better bunch of slime bags.
“Has she considered that maybe this had to do with acting skills and not color?”
This is the basic problem with Blacks and it has been for half a century. Instead of EARNING their way in our society, they are of the belief that because of SLAVERY, they are ENTITLED to receive rewards that are not JUSTLY EARNED! The only slavery that the current batch of Gibbsmedats are tied to is their self-enslavement to the RAT Party. Sure wished that throughout my lifetime, I could just look down at the color of my arm, and demand something to which I was not entitled, and get it!
The problem is that last year “12 Years a Slave” won an Oscar just because it was about slavery, not because it was a great movie.
The race-industrial complex now thinks that should happen every year.
I seem to remember a few years ago when blacks won disproportionately, and Haile Berry cried all over the stand. It was disgusting. I mean, it drives me crazy when all people can do is focus on the color of people’s skin. It totally takes away from the award for what it is, an ACTING award, not an ACTING WHILE BLACK award.
They are either good at what they do and win an award or it is someone else’s turn, go stamp your feet somewhere else. These people are so obsessed with the amount of their melanin it is obnoxious. And I don’t care about their “experience”. My ancestors died in a war to free them, and my family lost EVERYTHING in that war, their property, their children, everything. The one that survived ended up committing suicide he was affected so badly. You won’t see me weeping and crying over how I’m owed.
They need to get over it.
Just did. Funny.
Relax Al, I’m sure there will be plenty of “Hands up, don’t shoot” and “I can’t breathe” crap on display at the Oscars this year.
Once again, we are faced with the dilemma. Do we want the best or will affirmative action destroy the movie industry like it destroyed everything else?
When the Lefties combine their responsibility for hiring with their white guilt, the minority types they hire know they're affirmative action hires, and those then do whatever they can to scream bloody racism, just like this black female AMPAS president here, but of course, she's enlisted the skinny, Tawana Brawley-pushing, IRS scofflaw for this gig for increased effect.

Al Sharpton running his mouth again counts as "widespread criticism"?
The Academy Awards has what 2 Rules ,so now they’ll a few more just for Blacks ?
What you have to keep in mind is just who makes those who vote to nominate. It’s pretty much an older group of actors and it’s not a committee of people within the Academy.
So unless they want to change the rules of who can vote to nominate or how the process works then what will happen?
