I love Neil diamond’s voice. He’s one of two singers’ whose songs I can carry. The other is Ricky Van Shelton.

Until Yusuf Islam aka Cat Stevens (born Steven Georgiou to a Greek-Cypriot father and a Swedish mother) proclaims his rejection of fatwas and clears up accusations that he funded terrorists groups including Hamas with tens of thousands of dollars in 1988 (as alleged by Israeli intelligence sources in 2000 when they kicked him out of Israel) and Omar Abdel-Rahman, the blind Egyptian sheik convicted of seditious conspiracy for plotting to bomb New York City landmarks (as alleged by US government officials and resulting in Yusuf Islam's inclusion on the government’s “no fly’’ terrorist watch list), I will not buy his albums or attend his shows. Perhaps posting this tune is just wishful thinking on my part.

Rare Earth plated a show here in Tulsa back in the mid ‘70s when their drummer suddenly got sick. They were going to cancel the show, but one of the show’s sponsors was a local record store owner. He said he new all their songs and could fill in. He pulled it off and the show went without a hitch.
