(his speech in French was about the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen)
The Administration we have now can’t possibly get the hell out of there soon enough. Due to their inability to properly respond to ANYTHING, we are literally on borrowed time while they are in charge. This thing should have been easy. Have someone go over for a PR event. What will they do if something really terrible or significant happens? I’d hate to consider it....

IIRC, one of the reasons his superiors let him know about the three Purple Hearts and go home rule (and possibly helped him meet it) was because they thought he was going to get fragged. Possbly after getting a lot of guy’s killed. It was a win-win, Kerry gets to go home, they avoid a very unfortunate and messy situation involving an investigation, probable court martial and a lot of paperwork.
