If I was Maduro I wouldn't return from my begging for money tour, because there is more than a rope and a light post waiting at home with his name on it.

Obama is following Hugo Chavez's strategy for taking control of the government and the situation in Venezuela is where Obama is taking the United States.

If it happens, no one will be more sad than the old fool Jimmy Carter; another one of the dictatorship projects he helped advance (like Zimbabwe) has failed.

“Last week, a government official was jeered for saying that long lines indicated that Venezuela has plenty of food, when rows and rows of empty shelves in stores were telling a different story.”
Just like when they say that cooling is caused by global warming!

This is another example that proves that socialism never can work.

Venezuelans chose socialism/communism.
They voted for it freely. This is a difficult attitude to reverse.
A few will realize the error of their vote, but most will not. Perhaps their children will see the mistakes of their parents.

I read somewhere that someone in a baseball stadium started a chant and was escorted out immediately by riot cops (already in place?) but the whole stadium started chanting and the riot cops retreated.
The author said that even very recently this would have only been a few people joining in. He thinks things are much worse than we know.

Just because socialism has been proven to be a failure everywhere it has been tried doesn’t deter liberals from trying to impose it on the US.

They cannibalized their own productive class, then rode the wave of oil revenue and when it ran out, they finally ran out of other people’s money. Socialism has NEVER been successful. It simply is a scheme to loot the productive for as long as possible to let government cronies and the voting lazy live the good life.
