Gang of Six Unveils High-Tech Immigration Bill
National Review Online ^ | January 13, 2015 | Joel Gehrke

A bipartisan group of six senators — including Senator Marco Rubio (R., Fla.), the Gang of Eight member mulling a run for president — released the first bipartisan immigration bill of the new Congress, in the form of legislation to expand high-tech visas and green cards for immigrants.

“Our bill is a commonsense, bipartisan approach to help ensure that those who have come here to be educated in high-tech fields are able to stay with their families and contribute to the economy and our society,” said Senate Finance Committee chairman Orrin Hatch (R., Utah), who headed up the effort. “I’m calling on everyone — the president, members of both parties, and stakeholders in the tech community – to support this bill and help make it the first step towards real immigration reform.”

As much as I despise unions, I can see the need for some kind of protection from our own employment laws and lawmakers.

Yeah, how 'bout an 'American Citizens Union'? Maybe then we could call for a tax strike and actually make it stick.

We can have a G-D D-mned WAR ON:” damned near everything from Fat kids to Drugs, but when the neighbors to the south have declared a Demographic WAR, the Quislings in Washington just sit and TAKE IT... and if they are not just taking it they are working directly for the enemies...

Whenever I see a “Gang Of”, “Common Sense”, “Reform”, or “Comprehensive” associated with any legislation, that’s a HUGE red flag!

Especially when Rubio, Hatch, and Flake, are the ones directly involved in it.

To hire a “guest” worker, the employer should have to fill out, by hand, a 1,000 page document explaining why a native born American is not available and can not do the job or be trained to do the job. These foreign graduates need to go home and build their own ecconomy.

So the kid gets a visa goes to school here gets a STEM degree, then gets a green card and invites his family over

Oh, great, now that I - as an experienced engineer in the Silicon Valley in my 40s - finally have a job that pays 2/3 of what my old salary used to be - BUT WITH NO BENEFITS OR SICK DAYS OR VACATION DAYS...

...our @$$#0L3 patricians back in DC want to push me back to full unemployment, but, since I've been working contracts, no unemployment benefits whatsoever.

FU GOP SENATE !!!!

What in the hell is their goal here? I guess they don’t really have a long term goal. Just get rich now, and leave the declined country as a problem for someone else to deal with, as they’ll be retired and sitting on a beach somewhere...

They DO have a goal...There can be no superpower in the globalist scheme of things...There can be no nationalism nor sovereignty...We are to be a state of the NWO as the state of New Jersey is to Washington D.C....We are to be the equal of Somalia, Uzbekistan or Kuwait in the worldy plane...Just another 'state' of the world...

That's exactly true...Like the true axiom, 'United we Stand, Divided we Fall'...

Gracie, the "War" is over. We haven't quite lost. Yet

However, face a few factoids. If all Latin American immigration to the USA were to stop tonight at midnight ... and that's legal, illegal, and cousins of the Rubio and Cruz families ... we are still on track to become the northernmost Latin American Country (demographically speaking) at some time in the near future (historically speaking).

At the moment, about 25% of the countable population is of some sort of Latino background. Throw in the 20 million* or so illegal Latino aliens and their somehow citizen "anchor babies," and we're up around 30% already.

To be done, which no one on the public payroll is about to suggest:
(1)Sealed borders and an absolute moratorium on immigration of any kind
(2)Deport criminals
(3)Figure out what the Hell an American Citizen is. How can anyone tell me with a straight face that the child of two illegal aliens who are citizens of Puerto Malo or some other sister Republic to our south, are US Citizens? Along the way, tell me directly what exactly a "Natural Born Citizen" is.
(4) How do we integrate the immigrants, legal and illegal who are here now?

Don't tell me to deport the illegals because we have no, repeat NO idea who they are, where they are, how many there are, etc. If they run afoul of the law, that's one thing. But José Leafblower, His wife, María Nanny, and their 11 children, who inexplicably have US birth certificates, are not too likely to be caught for anything, have multiple IDs, and are at home amongst us as the fleas on a houndog's back.

The real question is, "In the 22d Century, is the USA going to look more like Bolivia, or more like Chile?" One thing for sure, it ain't gonna look like "Leave it to Beaver," Gracie. If you are living in a gated community on Park Avenue and summering in Idaho with the Liberals who have somehow amassed many billions by understanding and working a corrupt system, it will look more like Chile for you. The rest of us will get Honduras or if we are lucky, Bolivia..

*The Government says there are "11 million illegal aliens ...." Of course they are correct if they mean in LA County alone.

Other than Flack for AZ, none of these Senators come from States with sizable High Tech.
It looks like they are trying to kiss up to Silicon Valley for donations.
Here’s a clue, the GOP lost Silicon Valley back in the ‘90s

Everytime someone whines about the lack of STEM workers in America, I ask them what bright young person would prepare themselves for a difficult career which is chronically and regularly outsourced or replaced with imported workers.

From the late 1980s until about 15 years later, Japan had worker shortages in a number of areas which they solved by putting no quotas on imported workers but requiring that they be paid a salary of at least 10% more than native workers in the same industry. It solved the two-fold problem of worker shortages and, at the same time, encouraged native workers to go in the fields because the increased overall wages were attractive. i.e., a high concentration of premium paid foreign workers with the skillset acted to make the 10% premium even higher. In addition, the foreign workers were free to move to other companies. I know because I was one and I did.

How much need would STEM companies have for foreign workers if the had to pay a premium and didn't get an indentured servant in return?

America's Bogus Skilled Labor Shortage

H1B is about a "shortage" of STEM workers willing to take Third World wages.
